Icloud says it's full. It's not.

I was backing up Messages and my 5gb was mostly used and my iPad would not backup because it was out of space.

I unchecked Messages so that they would not be backed up and I removed Messages from the icloud.

My icloud storage in now down to 151mb, but it still won't backup. Says it's full and I have just about everything unchecked. No pics, no messages, no Safari, etc. I have down to pretty much just the system. It should be able to, but it continues to tell me to upgrade my icloud storage.

Thanks, Dan

Hello ZigZagPig,

Let's use the steps below to verify that the size of your next backup is less than your available iCloud storage:

1. In iOS or iPadOS, go to Settings > [your name].
2. Tap iCloud. At the top, you can check how much iCloud storage you've used.
3. Tap Manage Account Storage or Manage Storage.
4. Tap Backups, then tap the device you're using. Under Last Backup and Backup Size, you can check Next Backup Size. It may take a few minutes for your device to calculate Next Backup Size.

You can also find those steps in this resource: If you can't back up to iCloud - Apple Support

If there appears to be enough available space for your next backup, have you had the opportunity to restart your iPad since you made those prior adjustments? Restart your iPad - Apple Support
