Filtering Mail in Apple Mail for spam - with a specific name and subject line

Hi,

I'm getting lots and lots of spam from someone/thing with different names (the final bit is called WibGM - eg LouisWibGM, ArthurWibGM etc) and part of the subject line - they all have something along the lines of "about your price" or "about your prices".

Is there any way of filtering these into spam or junk? A lot of them come from Gmail or Hotmail addresses, and my ISP is onto it.

But some don't.

Thanks.

You can set up a run that if the Subject contains WibGM it will be deleted and moved to the Trash mailbox. You can set the Trash mailbox to delete the emails after 1 day, week or month or when shutting down the Mail app. Or you can empty the Trash manually within Mail.

Note: rules only work in the Inbox so if emails are sent to the Junk mailbox the rules will not apply.

Yes, you can still do it. Create a rule like this:

That should do the trick. Check the Full Headers to make sure they are not spoofing the from name.

You can copy the full header and paste it in your text editor. Then do a search for "from" and see what pops up. Spammers can be quite sneaky in spoofing the from name as other info.
