How do I remove large files from my ipad but leave them in the cloud?
My iPad is full and I want to remove them from my iPad, but keep them in the iCloud.
How can I set my iPad up to do this even for messages?

Next, it's important to understand that iCloud is not a standalone online storage service. iCloud syncs data between your devices, and houses iCloud backups. If you remove content from the iPad, it will be removed from iCloud as well.
If you want to clear data from your device (explained here: Manage your iCloud storage - Apple Support), we suggest archiving/making copies of your data before removing it from your iPad (which will remove it from iCloud).
