iPhone charging port not working - Loose connection

This is a perennial problem with all iPhone phones. I’ve used 4 iPhones since last decade, all having same issues. My wife has been using Samsung for the same time & has never faced such a problem. This is ‘sheer poor manufacturing’. Will shift to some android phone soon.

I worked for Verizon for 20 years. While your wife may never have had the problem, it was just as common with other phones as the iPhone. Do you carry your phone in your pocket? Does your wife carry her phone in her pocket or in a bag?

Thank you as mine has never worked properly and when I got a new Apple iPhone cord at target it too falls out of my phone I’m hoping that because I have insurance they will pay for whatever the problem is as I can look at it and visually I can see that the port is bigger than the charger cable plug-in. It’s really annoying. It’s been driving me crazy.

Oh, and I too used a cool hairdryer to blow out anything that could possibly be in the port. Now it seems to charge every once and…there it goes. It just fell out while I was talking! I give up! This is an issue of manufacturing. I had to drive home without a map. Praying that I would get there without Waze working. First world problem, but it is a little scary if you get stuck by the side of the road and you can’t call anyone.

As you've responded to yourself, I'm not sure who you really meant to respond to. So, pardon if you've already tried cleaning out the port. Don't use a blow dryer. That tends to just push things further in.

Ah, kids today! Keep a road atlas in your car for just such emergencies.

I got an IPhone 13 three weeks ago and I’m already having this problem. The whole reason I got a new phone was because my old IPhone 8+ was having this issue. It’s absolutely ridiculous that the charging port breaks after three weeks of use (never dropped or anything). Feels like a scam.

I dug the lint out and it is actually worse. It’s like the lint made things tighter. And it’s more than charging so the mag safe solution won’t help. I cannot use my SD card reader nor my DJI drone remote control

I tried cleaning the lightning connection, changing lightning connection and inspecting the connection port for debris. Nothing was found.

My iPhone iPhone 13 Pro charging port has too much play in it and even even with a new lightning plug I have to wiggle it to get it just right for it to charge. How do I fix that?

I have been doing this wriggling exercise since my first iPhone. Nothing has changed with iPhone.

I tend to agree with this. The cheap cords/devices are going to have less longevity in general.

My friends phone only charges with disk charger is there I way to fix it at home
