My apple air tag came apart and will not stay together I removed my air tag from my wallet and the top of the air tag fell off and the battery came out. I replaced the battery and attempted to put the top back on but it will not stay in place.

would not help then if it was me I would assume the metal part had degraded and no longer able to keep it closed
in which case replacement would be the way, as warranty does not cover addidental damage

I had both of the airtags which got their notches broken off. Both of them are currently working perfectly but there is no way to secure the battery as the assembly opens up, without anything there to hold it in place. I opened a support case with Apple Store inside Square One in Mississauga. I was really disappointed when the store manager refused to swap the airtags making excuses and blaming me on how I could have broken all 3 notches on the inside rim of the airtag. I tried to explain it to them that once you have just 1 latch loose, it is very easy to break-off the others (trying to close the **** thing) The staff at this location is not very customer centric and seemed unprofessional. The manager at the store looked new and raw at her job.
