Hi,

I suppose your MacBook Air has hardware, LCD panel, or display drive circuit on logic board, or thin cable which connects between LCD panel and logic board.

You'd better take your MacBook Air to your local retail AppleStore, Genius Bar or Apple Authorized Service Provider to be examined your MacBook Air there.

Troubleshooting a Washed-Out-Looking Mac Screen:

A. Single-Out this User:

What do you see when you attempt this with another user? It may be an issue with the macOS. So, create a new user, and see if your still get this error. If not, then it is an issue with the current user. If so, then it is an issue with the entire macOS.

B. Single-Out this App:

Take a Screenshot: What happens when you take a screenshot? Do you still get this error? Go Here: Take a Screenshot on your Mac - Apple Support

C. Provide a Photo:

Take a photo, and then reply back with it attached. IMPORTANT: Blank out personal info (ie Names and Time) by covering it with red-colored rectangles and such through use of the Photos app.

Thank you for the photo.

You Need to Reinstall the macOS:

Reinstalling the macOS does not rid of the install, it just fixes everything need be, by reinstalling drivers and moving items to their required locations. So, reinstall it.

To Install - Use a USB Bootable Installer:

Being that Wi-Fi is not working, the alternative way is to install this using a USB Bootable Installer. Create it using Terminal on this Mac. Enter the command provided in the following link that pertains to the macOS that is currently installed on this Mac. Use a USB Flash Drive of 8GB for this.

Is this only when watching movies? Or is it like this all the time?
