"There’s a problem loading this content" error while watching 'Across the Spider Verse' on Apple TV

RESTARTING THE REMOTE worked for me.

Hold down the TV button and volume down for 6 seconds. The "content loading" problem started the same time my remote stopped controlling the volume of my soundbar for no good reason. Restarting the remote solved both problems.

Had the same issue.

Disabling IPv6 (which you can do in System Setting/Network on the Mac, but must do at router level for the Apple TV, and probably on other devices such as smart TVs) solved it.

Connecting through a VPN (which happened to prioritize IPv4 over IPv6) or connecting to my neighbors' WIFI (with their agreement, their network is IPv4 only) also solved it.

Please send feedback to Apple on Product Feedback - Apple so they get aware of the problem.

I have this issue too. What has worked for me is playing it via the iTunes Movies app rather than the Apple TV app. Seems to play fine there.

Deleting the app on my smart tv and reinstalling it worked for me? Hassle

I was having this same problem with multiple movies in my library. How I fixed it was to undownload the movie and then download it again. This has worked each time. Good luck!

I called apple support and they really couldn’t narrow down the issue since I’m using LG smart tv and not apple! I told them I’m getting same error message on 3 different shows 3 different times. Deleting and reinstalling the app is only thing that works for me

I had the same problem using Apple TV on the iPad but followed other comment on this thread and switching to iTunes it loaded fine.

Last night, after continuing to just get the "There's a problem..." notice on every show I tried to watch on Apple TV+ through the Apple TV app on my Apple TV 4K device, I turned the TV and the Apple TV 4K off for a minute and turned it back on. I waited until this morning to try it again. It is now able to load content (shows) again. But the additional separate reported problem of my Sony TV remote no longer being able to control my Apple TV 4K device is continuing since the latest tvOS update (17.4). (See the many separate discussions on that). (And though the Apple TV remote will work, you must "click" on a button on the remote each time the Apple TV 4K starts to "enable" to the remote again and then the touch pad will work.) (And the Apple TV 4K is slower to wake up after you select that input to play, so you get a no input screen for a couple seconds.) These things should not happen.

If it continues after these steps, please provide additional information such as what the exact message you are getting when trying to play this content.

I am having the same error. After you push “PLAY” on the movie’s menu screen, you get “There’s a problem loading this content.” And and “OK” button which brings you back to the movie’s menu screen. Tough to spend $20 to own a movie on digital and encounter such a hassle!

Same thing here. My internet is not the issue. It’s something about this movie in particular. Makes me wish I purchased it elsewhere so I could watch it. The menu screen plays just fine and so do all of the features. The movie itself won’t play. Frustrating experience

Today I got the Apple TV+ free trial. Streaming with the Apple TV+ app from iphone 12 gives a constant error message “there is a problem loading this content”. Does not matter which tv show. I can not find a solution, anybody? The Apple TV device I have is an older model which works fine with Netflix and Amazon prime and ZiggoTV.

Same for me and it is the next episode of a show I was just watching the other day.

it plays fine on my phone but won’t play on my Apple TV. Just says “There’s a problem loading this content” after trying a while.

I tried airplay from my phone but that doesn’t work either… just spins until K cancel from my phone and then gives the error.
