Apple Intelligence is now available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac!
the mail app badge doesn't show a count for new emails. I have hard reset the phone, turn off and on notifications, deleted and restored app. NO LUCK !!
any ideas as to what is going on ?

Check Settings > Mail > Accounts > Fetch New Data. If it is set to Manual, it will only update when the app is used. Try one of the other times for "pushing" email. Also see:
