contacts on my phone like doctor offices and business contractors are going to my voicemail. They are not blocked. They are added to my contact list, but they appear in red instead of black.

FIRST: Are there missed calls in Phone/Recents on the phone? If they are not the problem is in the network, because the calls aren’t getting to your phone. Contact your carrier:
If they are in Recents here’s what to check:
i have that problem since i got back from europe 2 weeks ago. calls go straight to voicemail
called tmobile, they could not fix it. so it must be apple . and its random. i don’t see missed calls.

Changing my ringtone worked---but only temporarily. Now the **** thing is back to sending calls directly to voicemail. And I've tried EVERYTHING suggested in this thread. This is absolutely annoying.
This is incredibly irritating.. I’ve completely gone through this.. every single setting is set correctly including focus so it shouldn’t deny or send calls to voice mail. I just reset network settings..maybe that will help but doubtful very.. iPhone 14 Pro Max. This also started after the iOS 17 update. Apple get it together

iPhone 11 Pro Max goes straight to voicemail when anybody tries to call me. Some of the people are in my contact list, and some are even on my favorites list. I do not even get notified that they tried to call me all of my do not disturb Settings are off and actually have never been turned on. Airplane mode is off and yet I still don’t get calls. It’s obvious my all the comments that this is an ongoing problem for iPhones. When is the ETA to fix this?

Just started today and I have checked all my settings. I haven’t had this issue before and I don’t even realize that someone called.
Gone throught the fixes. Calls go to voicemail without ringing. Did it for a short time and then cleared up, but now phone is useless. I'm chasing recents and it's rude and nasty.
Same problem for several weeks and nothing has fixed it. Anyone who calls on the first call gets sent to voicemail, if they call again, it goes through. It’s so irritating.
This happened to me after I did the recent update. I’ve done all the troubleshooting and still not fixed. Verizon told me “maybe I need a new phone”. Absurd!
I have an issue that all calls come straight directly to my voice mail and give me no chance to answer the calls. My phone is unmuted at all time and those are my frequent callers
