iPhone video cannot be imported to Photos Library on Mac - Unknown error

I have taken a video on my iPhone 13 (latest OS) , submitted via airdrop to my MacBook Pro (Latest OS) and tried to import into a photos library on the Mac by using:

  1. import function of Photos
  2. Drag and drop from Finder

Both do not work as the file is apparently in an unknown format or empty (I can play the video on the Mac) and it is an unknown error.

This particular video is long and big (30 Mins, 3,x GB) but it also happens with smaller videos while others taken during the same holiday work and can be imported.

Happy for any lead. Thanks !

You might want to try using "Image Capture" app to transfer the IMG_8950.MOV file from iPhone to Mac desktop

.MOV files are QuickTime format files, so will generally play in the QuickTime player ok.
