iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server

No idea, but a Google search said okay to delete.

I tried disabling first, but it came back on with restart.

For me, it was impacting both signing into icloud via my browser (Chrome) and via the icloud for Windows app.

Both are working fine now!

Your post is very helpful! I will try installing Firefox, too. I use a Wn 11 laptop that was fine until the middle of August. No solution with Apple’s help, either. We uninstalled ICloud for Windows, reinstalled, etc. What makes me really mad is I can’t even get to the iCloud.com. website. I get just get a blank white page. I also tried IE test user (used the deceased Microsoft Internet Explorer) but no luck. I didn’t try downloading Firefox.

This is much worse for me, I get the same error on my laptop but also it doesn't work on the iphone as well, I am able to login with apple ID but if I try anything with I cloud it doesn't work with the phone as well

So, is there a fix yet for the "iCloud encountered an error while trying to connect to the server" error? Turning off the IPv6 setting in Windows 10 has no effect, changing to different browsers has no effect, and even trying from a Mac with MacOS will not allow me to login to iCloud! I can login to my Apple ID, and I get the Apple ID security prompts on my iPhone to enter to the login challenge question, etc., and I can even open and view the iCloud settings via the APP, but I cannot login to the iCloud via any web browser, whether on a Mac or Win-PC. Any thoughts to resolve would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use Chrome, Windows 11, never used Edge. I haven't been able to connect since last Tuesday - exactly one week ago.

As of right now, this is also happening to me - It also started up sometime last week.

Any idea of if this is being looked into and when will this be resolved?

If Apple cannot fix it, are they offering to discount you for your monthly service fee? I have been having the same issue for the past two days.

Interesting, my computer at work doesn’t have any of these problems with browsers. I don’t use the app at work, though.

That's weird/interesting that it worked for you. I always use Chrome so I tried Edge no luck, Safari no luck, Firefox no luck and DuckDuckGo no luck. I hope yours continues working.

So to summarize it's not possible to connect to icloud.com using IPv6 and a Windows computer? Does it work with a MAC?

I actually spoke too soon, the error is back again. How does that happen? I had three hours of access now nothing.
