No data entry possible in Apple Health App

My Apple Health app doesn’t let me manually add my workouts. According to Apple Support, you should be able to tap on browse, activity, then scroll down to a specific activity, after which you click on “add data” in the top right corner. My app doesn’t show the “add data” button so there is no way for me to manually add exercise data. How do I correct this?

This is a good idea, but it didn’t work for me. Half the time I workout I forget to start it on my watch. It’s absolutely ridiculous that Apple would remove this feature under Activity, yet keep it for Steps, Sleep etc.

In the Health App, users do not have a dedicated "Add Data" feature for recording information related to Activity, Walking Steadiness, or Headphone Audio Levels. Instead, these data points are automatically gathered from their respective applications. This streamlined approach eliminates the need for manual input, as the Health App seamlessly collects and integrates data from compatible sources such as activity trackers, fitness apps, and audio measurement tools. This automation ensures that users have an accurate and up-to-date overview of their health and wellness metrics without the hassle of manual data entry.

This happens when I FORGET to set my watch to capture the data for a workout. How I get around it is to set my watch to capture about 3 minutes (I use my fitness pal) and then stop the capture. Once it transfers to my Health App on iPhone I now get a tab in the right hand corner “add data”. I manually add the remainder of the workout. Pretty clunky and only lets me add calories, miles and time (depending upon what exercise you select) but better than not capturing it at all.
