Itunes on Windows 11 stopped Apple Music Features
Running on Windows 11 Pro (22H2 / os Build 22621.2134) with Itunes 12.12.9.4 for some time now. Following a recent windows update (KB5029263) Apple music features cannot be accessed from Itunes. "For you", "Browse", "Radio" tabs are showing blank screen only, search is not working, I can only see the "Library" and "Store" which work fine.
For troubleshooting:
1- I signed out and re-signed in.
2- Re-authorized the pc
3- I ran windows installer and repaired the existing installation.
4- uninstalled and re-installed itunes windows 12.12.9.4 from offline installer
5- Uninstalled and installed itunes windows store version 12.12.9.4
6- Uninstalled and installed older version 12.6.5.3
7- Changed the DNS adress
8- Flushed the DNS cache
9- Re-installed windows from previous backup (but sadly the image was taken after the windows update. Even if I had an image from before there is no way to avoid windows updates as they are pushed down our throats automatically)
None of the above attempts seem to work. It seems like after recent Windows Update Itunes is no longer able to connect to the authentication server with Apple and Apple needs to fix this.
Furthermore I downloaded Apple Music preview App (why preview anyway?) from Windows Store and logged in to it. Same problems exist there too. Only library is displayed but Browse, radio etc are not working. This justifies my thinking that windows update killing apple music access functionality.
It seems this happened on macs a while ago ( Empty "For you", "Browse" tabs in iTunes,… - Apple Community) but no action was taken.
It has always been a pain to use Itunes on PC as Apple pushes people to Apple Ecosystem but hey I'm not going to go for a Mac to continue with my subscription to Apple Music. If I end up not being able to use for a service which is already paid for, I will have to go the Spotify way inevitably.
