iPhone flashing in the middle of the night

Is there a new way for thieves to hack iPhones? I see others had this happen awhile ago. I’m not sure how long it’s been going on or if this is the first time on my phone. I only know it happened because it was caught on Nanny Cam and I just happened to watch it. FIRST there was a flashing outside (maybe someone else on their phone??). I could see the flashing in the camera. And then after that flashing stopped, my phone was flashing several times. There was NO sound and there were no alerts on my phone. I slept through the whole thing. Creepy. Has me thinking some kind of hack is going on.

Did you see this only on camera footage?

IR waves are emitted from phones {proximity sensors etc} We can’t see this light with our own eyes, but it’s easily picked up by cameras.

Do you think this could be the cause?

I had that happen; I saw lights blinking on camera, coming from my phone. It scared me until I looked it up!!

What color is it?

If it’s not IR light, and it’s your camera’s flashlight flashing instead; it could be that you have flashing notifications on. Be sure to check your settings if that’s the case. Pull down in settings to reveal the search bar and search for “LED”. It should be under accessibility and LED flashing for alerts.

{You did say that it was happening without notifications, but I don’t know anything else it could be besides those two things!}

My LED goes off all the time in silent and sleep mode for little things like reminders and medications etc; but I’m not sure what it could be since you said it went off with no alerts?

My phone is doing the same. I can see it on my camera. Mine and my bfs phones both flash randomly with no notifications

My daughter set a camera up in her room and saw the same thing. Flashing lights no notifications. Creepy.

Same thing happened with my phone last night. Randomly was looking nack through security camera footage and saw it.

I guess Apple doesn't have a fix for it. It is CREEPY. Maybe my phone is possessed...?

I am concerned about the bright flashes around 2 am on some nights. I have read that many others have the same issue but no further advice given. Can you please advise. Thank you
