iCloud not syncing to WinPC iCloud Drive folder

Use iCloud successfully for saving/editing/seeing files across iPhone and and two iPads.

No Problems.

Now, want to work with one of those files, too big to email, so no prob, will just access from the iCloud Drive folder on my Win10 PC. NOTE: I never use this folder to add files to the iCloud folders. I forgot it was even there.

And apparently, it forgot also.

Latest file created date (sync'd?) is 10/22/22, and most folders don't show up at all. And unlike another person on a similar problem thread here, doing a search for the name of a file not listed on the Windows file explorer under iCloud Drive does NOT show up.

Files that ARE listed either have a blue cloud or a circled check under Status.

So what mysterious setting, either on one of the Apple devices or on the iCloud app on my PC, is not set up correctly? Would be nice if this worked.
