AOL app password GENERATOR no longer working - 24-8-2023

This has become a perennial problem with AOL constantly requesting to enter email on IMAP applications. I guess gradually one will have to migrate away from AOL, if it makes it compelling to use their APP

AOL app password generator not working again When is AOL going to fix this? It was brought in for "security" and if making your device unusable it achieved that. I like to use AOL in Outlook and it is terrible that users have this problem. I complained to AOL almost a year ago and it is shocking users are still having this problem

AOL app generator I have heard via other posts that the AOL app password generator is not working. Many strings state this is being worked on by AOL. In the meantime, there is no way to access AOL mail via a third party app. Anyone have an idea of when this problem will be corrected, a work around or is the best solution to stop using AOL?

Can't generate AOL app password. Was formerly able to use Microsoft Outlook app on the iPhone to get to AOL mail. It required generating an app password on AOL. Recently, when Outlook asked me to enter the AOL mail password, I tried generating a new app password on AOL, it responded, "Sorry, this feature is not available right now." Other people seem to have had the same problem, but I've found no work-arounds. Any ideas? (No snide remarks about using an AOL mail account, please.)

I don't understand the issue...?

You can generate a password... for ex. https://passwordsgenerator.net/

AOL has been bought and sold so many times I can not keep up.

There is an old adage "friends don't let friends do AOL."

I use AOL on Outlook (IMAP) for MAC so one is expected to generate an AOL password within AOL email settings.

AOL perennially asks to re-enter the password on Outlook MAC.
