Hide My Email won't forward me emails.

I used hide my email for a website I was purchasing and I made a refund. The information I need is sent to my hide my email and i've been waiting for about 5 months now, yet it still hasn't sent it out to my icloud. I checked everything and it is activated. I have no clue why this is happening, but this needs to get fixed so they can send me my money from the Hide My Email. This is just ridiculous.

Yes and no.

With the company that had my bad HME, yes, I got it resolved. It took several emails with that company.

I just dumbed it down for them by saying I had mis-typed my email address & asked them to do what they do for other ppl who make typos entering their email address. That’s what you’ll have to do as well.

You might need to threaten a credit card dispute as well if they give you push back. But they should have a policy in place for typos entering emails.

On the Apple side, no, it was not resolved. I was on the phone with a senior Apple support staff x 2 days. As of my last contact with them on Jul 4, 2024, they were working on correcting the issue.

FWIW... Same problem here. My @icloud.com HME alias refused to forward absolutely anything correctly.

I tried the age-old "unplug and restart" solution:

  1. Navigate over to HME in Settings
  2. Looked for HME details of the address that was failing.
  3. Deactivated the errant HME entry.
  4. Found the deactivated entry in the list of deactivated entries and reactivated it.

Bingo! Works a charm for all traffic sent that HME entry.

Hi 4nh,

If you are not receiving forwarded emails from Hide My Email, you can try the following:

  1. Make sure you have the correct forwarding address by following "Change the forwarding address" in Create and edit Hide My Email addresses on iCloud.com.
  2. As it has been months, look for emails dated months ago.
  3. Look for the email in the Spam folder just in case it went there by accident.
  4. If possible, have the sender try and send the email again.

If you are still unable to locate this email, contact Apple Support for further assistance here Get Support.

Take care.

Yes, I will just add that I have been on the phone with Apple Support all morning. I don't want to create a new ticket on top of the one already open, but I can verify that Apple IS creating HME alias email addresses that are bad -- meaning when people / companies try to email it, it gets bounced back as a bad email address. This is a HUGE problem for those of us who assume that your HME aliases are tried out and verified as working aliases. I'm sending a screenshot of just one of the error message that people are receiving when emailing the HME alias Apple created. This is NOT good because we are relying on Apple to create valid aliases when we use AppleID for purchases / account creations. It is really disappointing that this is continuing to happen as it seems Apple has known about this issue for ~12 months.

Yes, Apple definitely has a problem with some of the HME aliases they are creating, meaning at least some of the email aliases created are NOT ones that a person/company can email & it be forwarded to you. I wish I would have known that these HME alias email addresses are not being tried out by Apple before being set up as an alias. I have been on the phone with support all morning because ppl are emailing the alias but it's getting bounced back to them as a bad address.

I had to show you (Apple support) the error codes that people get when they try to use the HME alias email.

Unfortunately I now can't access the account that was created with HME because of this issue.
