14 inch 2023 M2 Max crashes every 2-3 weeks same error

This issue has been happening since I bought the laptop ~4 months ago and it's been every 2-3 weeks my MBP is unresponsive and crashes.

This is quite disappointing as I come from a linux background and opted for OSX expecting comparable stability with better compatibility but this is not the case.

The laptop is plugged into an external monitor and a USB switch for peripherals(unsure if this may be the issue).

Adding to Knowledge Seeker's advice:

  • Can you run without that USB switch for a few weeks to see if that's the culprit?
  • Do you have any anti-virus, cleaner, or optimizer apps installed on your Mac? If so, delete them (using their respective uninstallers, as moving the app to the trash doesn't completely get rid of them). These apps actually create more issues than they prevent.
  • Have you checked System Settings-->General-->Login Items to see if there's something loading upon startup that shouldn't be?

This is a Kernel panic.

Kernel panic is a sign of a fatal error that has occurred on your Mac and could potentially lead to data loss. The causes of kernel panics could be very vast. They could be either software-related or hardware-related.

Here are some methods that you can use to resolve this problem:

1. Run Apple Diagnostics or Apple Hardware Test.

2. Use an account that has enough Administrator privileges.

3. Disable startup & login items.

4. Check for hardware problems and fix them.

5. Check and repair your internal & external disk on Mac.

6. Remove third-party kernel extensions not compatible with your macOS.

7. Add more RAM and hard disk space.
