When will I stop receiving system and security updates? I saw something speculating on fall 2023. Is this correct?

Why won’t my iPhone 8 update? It stopped at 16.7.4! And my best friends phone had all the new features. And I don’t know what to do I’ve tried to do it manually also but it just won’t update! Does anyone have any tips to help??
Not immediately, no. But slowly over the next few years, apps will start requiring newer versions.
I want to know how long I will be getting security updates for the 8
I wonder if I should upgrade to a 13 mini or wait for SE 4 (if ever it comes out)
or just use a galaxy phone

My iPhone 8+can’t install some app in AppStore it need required iOS 15. Or later and it finally to update iOS again

Nobody knows for certain, but I’m pretty sure you’ll get security updates for at least another year, likely 2 years at the least.

The most recent iOS update for the iPhone 8 was May 13, 2024......iOS 16.7.8

The iPhone 8 isn’t getting any more software updates. It is getting security updates occasionally, and it should for at least another 2 years.
Do not release next update on iphone 8plus version 16.7.8?
iPhone 8 should be good for a few more years
