iPhone vibrates without notifications after iOS 16.6 update

when it vibrates does it have the location service icon at the top by the time as well?

My phone (13) also has been randomly vibrating for days now even on DND and I recently noticed that when it does the location icon pops up. Went into an Apple Store and they didn’t understand what was going on at all.

I should add- mines happening even when the screen is locked/off as well. Super super annoying.

After finally getting to read all of the replies, I did go into Pokemon Go and noticed in the notification settings of the game app a Vibrations options so I turned it off. This has solved the issue. I have gone back to my phone notifications and turned my system haptics back on and all of the notifications I had turned off hoping to solve for this annoyance and the annoying random vibrations have not returned. Pokemon Go has to have been the issue.

Let’s try turning off all vibration settings, restarting your iPhone, then turning them back on:

1. Turn off vibration on iPhone - Apple Support
2. Restart your iPhone - Apple Support
3. Repeat step 1 but turn vibrations on.

I don’t have Pokémon go and it’s happening Pokémon has nothing to do with it

Look at the time. Both my phone and watch will do the haptic sound at the top of each hour.

I do not have Pokemon Go or ever downloaded the app. This has been doing on for a few days now for me. I have tried, restarting, turning off and on vibrations and still happening.

No i don’t have Pokémon and it’s still happening

Check your accessibility menu under Face ID & Attention. There’s a new feature I found called Haptic on Successful Authentication. Seems to vibrate the phone when it unlocks. I turned that off and it solved this issue for a few days. But then it started happening again and is also now playing alert text tones randomly when there’s no texts. I have now turned off all of my notifications and it’s still happening. So I am not sure. But maybe disabling the Haptic on Successful Authentication will help with it only doing this at unlock for you. Mine randomly vibrates while using it all the time now. Not just at unlock :-(

Definitely interested to find out if it works for you as I have Pokémon go as well but have never allowed the app to give notifications. Makes me wonder if the vibration is just whenever an app of any kind is trying to track the location?

It does seem like pokémon go might be the issue. They have a post on their website saying they’re looking into it, along with a bunch of other issues for IOS users. Probably good to delete the app for a while as they work things out.

Even after changing location settings, it kept vibrating. Now I have turned off Adventure Sync, to see if this solves the problem. So if you changed the location settings and it didn't work. Try turning the Adventure Sync off to see if that solves the problem for you.

Anyone else have the new update cause the vibrate on silent and the vibration ring stop working? Just a heads up to anyone updating. I’m on an older 13pro and didn’t expect the update to kill this feature
