Powerbeats Pro do not display on phone or charge consistently

Powerbeats Pro widget is supposed to appear on your iPhone when you open the case and it is near the device. It sometimes appears and often does not, in seemingly random fashion. Sometimes, if I remove an earphone and put it back in the case, this will trigger the widget. Sometimes not. Sometimes if I start playing music and then put it back, this will trigger the widget. Sometimes not. If the widget does appear, sometimes it shows the individual earphones, left and right, along with their charge status. Sometimes it just shows them as a single unit. Again, seems to be random. I am extremely diligent and careful about making sure, when I put them back, that the earphones click into place and, if the widget is displayed, that the charging icon is on. Yet when I go to use the earphones the next time, sometimes one of them is completely depleted. Again, this is random. I have done a factory reset several times and nothing resolves these issues. This is actually my second pair, as I returned the first pair for the same behavior. When they work, I am very happy with them. But they are the balkiest, finickiest, most poorly engineered devices I have ever owned. I am so unhappy with this product. I have looked all over this forum and it seems this issue is not an uncommon one. If there is a magical solution out there, I would love to hear it.

Based on what you posted, it may very well be possible that you just have a defective pair of Beats earbuds. If they are still within one year of when you purchased them from Apple, you should have them examined by an Apple Technician to confirm if they are truly defective ... and, in that case, you may find that you can get a replacement set for little or no cost to you.

I went through support, as suggested. I made a Genius Bar appointment. They replicated the same issues I was having and sent the Beats in for repair. I got the earphones back and, although they were "repaired," they are no better. In fact, they are worse. Now I cannot bring up the widget at all and I cannot get the right earphone to work, no matter what I try (even though they are both recognized). I have reset the earphones three times, to no avail. Unbelievable. These are unquestionably the worst consumer electronic device I have ever owned and the fact that Apple cannot do anything about it is beyond frustrating.
