cannot connect with iphone using mac pro monterey 12.6.8

I tried two iphones and the trust option keeps blinking on and off. I tried fixes found on the internet like resetting my security settings. The phone and Mac Pro are up to date.

Restart both the Mac and the iPhone.

Then connect the iPhone to the Mac using the iPhones charging cable and try again.
