Can't find the TextEdit document color button

Hi,


Since upgrading from Mojave to Ventura, some TextEdit documents that had colored backgrounds, suddenly have white backgrounds, with only a background color where text is.


Looking for a way to get the color back to the background, I found out Apple points Ventura users to the 'document color button' in the fonts panel. However, my fonts panel looks different and has no such document color button.


I'd like to show you the English version I always get the Dutch version of this Apple page so I guess you automatically get the version in your language: Teksteditor op de Mac opmaken met lettertypen en stijlen - Apple Support (NL)


Is there a way to change the document background color this or is it simply that Apple decided to delete this option in Texteditor (Dutch name for) / TextEdit? Most of my old texteditor documents still have the background color.

When in a Rich Text TextEdit document, press cmd+T to open the Font tool and then to set your document background color, click the toolbar item you see below that is orange (it will be transparent by default):
