Pictures send as blank spaces

Whenever I send a picture in messages, they always send blank spaces; whenever I receive pictures, my phone does not allow me to download them. I have been looking for a long time for a solution on many forms, but I have not come across one yet.

Hello dhruvttomar,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We're happy to look into this with you.

Can you please explain a bit more about what you mean by blank spaces? Is it that the photos don't appear as sent or something else? The more details about this, the better, as it will help us research possible solutions.

As for not being about to download photos from Messages app, are you receiving an error message? If so, what does it say? Have you double checked to see if the photos appear in Photos app > For You > Shared with You? If not, please take a moment to review the following article to see if the direction it provides is helpful.

When someone shares photos and videos with you using the Messages app, you can easily find them in the Shared with You section in the Photos app.

(Automatic Sharing and Photos must be turned on in Settings  > Messages > Shared with You, and your friend must be in your contacts.)

In the Photos app, the For You screen showing the Shared with You photo collections.

  1. Tap For You, then scroll down to Shared with You.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • Tap a photo to view it in full screen, save it to your library, share it, or delete it.
    • Tap See All to view all photos shared with you.
    • Tap the name of the person who shared the photo, then reply to them using the Messages app.

You can also tap Library, then tap All Photos to see photos and videos shared with you in Messages. These photos and videos have a chat bubble in the bottom-left corner of the thumbnail. Tap the thumbnail to share the photo or video, save it to your library, or delete it. To hide photos and videos shared with you in Messages, tap (...), then tap Your Photos Only.

Note: Photos and videos you don’t save from a Messages conversation are deleted in Shared with You and your library if the conversation in Messages is deleted.

To turn off Shared with You, go to Settings > Messages > Shared with You, then turn off Photos (green is on)."

If you're unable to find these photos, be sure to double check your device storage or iCloud storage, to ensure you have adequate space to save additional items.

Settings > General > iPhone Storage

Settings > Your Name > iCloud

Best regards.
