1- Add your credit card to Wallet
2- Enable double tab side button from Wallet settings
3- Try to turn off the screen by pressing the side button
4- The process and animation is slow
5- If you disable the double tab side button, everything works fine

Its like when the two side button enabled, the IPhone adds a delay so i can click two times without the screen goes off. but it looks laggy and not smooth, not a good UX.

I would try force restarting the device first of all, the iPhone may not have a break in a little while.
I did that two times actually, no luck
