I’ve been adding rail tickets and other items to my ApplePayWallet for several years, but over the last few days I keep getting an error message saying ‘cannot add pass to passbook’ or just ‘403 Forbidden’ at the top of the screen. My devices is an iPhone 12 MaxPro and my browser default is MS Edge.
Anyone any ideas on how to fix?

I’ve found a partial solution. I use Outlook and it was defaulted (in Outlook’s preferences) to open urls in MS Edge. It seems a recent iOS update has set using the ‘add to wallet’ button through Safari (not sure if a bug or deliberate). I can now add my rail passes but, bizarrely, not my Apple shop appointments (although I was able to add one from the website…🤷♂️)

OK, let’s do this, please force quit Apple Wallet, then do a forced restart of your iPhone. When your iPhone restarts use the add to Apple Wallet link in email etc.

You'll have to hold your finger on the link. This will bring up a menu and show a preview, which you can't click. From the menu, copy the link and then manually paste it into Safari (hold your finger on the address bar, click paste). That should bring up Apple Wallet as expected.
Confirm your region is set correctly.

The problem is MS Edge. Copy the link and paste it into Safari and it should work. This started happening somewhat recently to me as well.
Please press up volume, then press down volume and lastly, press the side button. Continue holding the side button until you see the white Apple logo. Once the white logo appears, let go of side button.
The volume button presses need to be done fairly quickly.
Are you behind a VPN? What country are you in?
Alternatively, you can make Safari your default browser, but this is obviously more disruptive to your workflow.

All your devices, including iPhone 7, are up to date?
Tickets, passes etc typically are added using a link in an email, receipt or text from the company issuing the ticket. Another way is using the company’s app on your iPhone to add the tickets.
How are you attempting to add them to the wallet and what is the exact error message?
I managed to force restart but the same issue. Opens page ‘rsa-conciergegatwayext’, then onto another site ‘notification-kit.Apple’, which has the ‘403 Forbidden’ message. I had this on Monday trying to save a rail ticket…

Also, maybe try adding a different ticket to your wallet to rule out the ticket itself being the problem (continue to use Safari).
Have you contacted the support team at the transit company? If so, what did they say?
