I have a windows 10 computer system, and and itunes and windows are both updated. I would like to update my iPhone, but iTunes does not detect my phone.
Windows detects my phone, but iTunes does not.
I am not sure if i need to uninstall Itunes. Advice will be appreciated.

Uninstalling and reinstalling may reinstall whatever device driver is missing, not properly registered, etc. You may need to reset the trust settings on your device. Don't delete your application data. That could include preferences such as your library location, and/or any iOS backup data. Just remove the application, and any other Apple software, reboot, then reinstall, preferably as admin, and with any non-Microsoft AV software disabled.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the app shouldn't affect your library or settings. Of course you should backup your library either way.

So, how much will be deleted/changed when I uninstall iTunes? I currently have it setup to redirect the software to the iTunes directory on a secondary hard drive. Can I uninstall it from Windows without removing settings?
I have options to reset (and delete data), and also uninstall, which says it keeps documents.
Thanks for providing those links. I was not able to find the solution. What does uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes change? If anyone has any other suggestions, those would be appreciated.
Do you know what application data is deleted when resetting the application in Windows? It shows this as an option before uninstalling, and this seems like it also reinstalls it.
