Messages is taking up too much space.

I see that my Messages app is taking up 63GB of storage, so I check to see what's taking up the space in specific. It says Auto Delete Old Conversations 1GB, Review Large Attachments 6GB, Top Conversations 5GB, Photos 2GB, Videos, 4GB, GIFs and Stickers 200MB, and Other 104MB.

I have turned off iCloud for many, many apps, and even with that, it does not help much. Is there a way to make it better? I have photos backing up to google photos to preserve space. Messages takes up a lot of space in iCloud even after deleting several Conversations Hi all! I recently received a message telling me that my iCloud storage (5 GB) was almost full. I took a look at it and realized that Messages was taking up 2.9 GB of space. So yesterday, I deleted (in all my devices) several long time Conversations containing several images and videos. I go back this morning to check my iCloud storage and it hasn't changed. Messages still takes up 2.9 GB. Could you help me understand that situation please? Thank you!

Messages taking up significant icloud storage Messages is taking up 25.1GB of storage in my iCloud. I've deleted almost all of my text conversations and the amount of storage it's using hasn't decreased at all. I can no longer save anything to icloud because my messages are taking up so much space. If i've deleted all of my text conversations why is it still taking up so much space?

That’s pretty strange….especially since the summed total of all data given in breakdown is 19Gb if you round up. That goest’t even come close to 63Gb. Where is this data stored? On your device or iCloud?
