Honestly, I'm not seeing the improvements with this update. It's not easy to see the apps I want to see anymore and now I'm seeing this annoying night mode watch face when I don't want to. My question is how can I turn this feature off permanently? Turning the crown doesn't keep it off. Thanks in advance for helping out this currently annoyed and disappointed user.

Apple Watch Ultra, watchOS 10
In the dark, the ambient light sensor on Apple Watch Ultra now automatically activates Night Mode on the Modular Ultra or Wayfinder watch faces. You can turn it off by editing the watch face, and in the “Night Mode” slide (section on the iPhone companion app) turn it from Auto to Off.

I wouldn’t mind it auto-dimming as long as I could control it and turn it back. The fact that I can’t turn the crown to toggle it on and off is infuriating.
That’s truly the crux of the matter! Why would they choose to remove the manual activation of night mode altogether?!?!

Like many others I CANNOT turn off the night mode on my phone. The button for it is STUCK in AUTO and will not change
This does not change the night mode with the latest watch update
On top of night mode disaster look at your maps! The background is so dark it’s hard to see any detail. It’s even hard to see state to state borders!!
