WatchOS 10 battery life
Someone else noticing substantially worse battery life on WatchOS 10? In my case about 50% worse imo.
Apple Watch SE, watchOS 10

Apple Watch SE, watchOS 10
My SE gen 1 was more than 50% worse when I updated to watch os10.
when I tried resetting and restoring from a backup there was no improvement.
eventually I restored and set up as new watch and it is acceptable now. I have 65% left at a point in the day where I would normally be close to zero.
I have the same problem they need to fix this i had no issues until i updated
I did try that on mine 5th gen. Did not solve the issue. Prior the update battery was down to 30% by the end of the day. Now it is dead in the evening.
It’s not right 5 days ago it was doing 2days plus between charges, I charged last night and will have to tonight. series 7
Can you confirm the type of watch and the % health ?
I think this is why.
Watch 5 have roughly reached 75/80% health.
And it looks like Watch OS 10 is killing old batteries.
People having the issue please confirm what your battery health is 😉
No, not here. My new series 9 battery seems to perform exactly like the series 8 battery. If I charge it at 9 p.m., I tend to have 30% battery 25 hours later.
No such luck… did a full reset too, got it charged up to 28%, in 45 minutes it’s down to 11%, and drops a percent every time I check it.
Seems apple have taken note, an update has flashed up on my watch aiming to fix battery drain

of people who updated has this problem
And a lot of people, probably most, don't have this problem. That doesn't make your problem less real. But it may mean that you're wrong about the cause.

How do you know that? My watch was fine until this update. It has nothing to do with a faulty battery.
I was NOT advising YOU.
Step changes in charge suggest a serious battery fault. Did you do the test I advocated?

My battery health is still at 86%. It was at 86% before the problem started. It's not the watch suddenly going bad. My husband has the same watch/phone as me, and he's not experiencing these issues.
On the same OS and iOS as you?

I hope they come out with a new opertiating system soon
Historically, Apple has released a new version of watchOS once a year, generally in September. watchOS 10 was just released last month.
Not sure about this to be honest. Reduction of battery life, yes of course. Dividing it by 2 after an upgrade, not coherent.
Or this proves Apple is managing planned obsolescence...as they did with iphones a few years ago and had to revert with a new os update
My battery life is awful after upgrading to iOS10. Drains to zero IN HOURS. Is there anyway to determine which apps / features are using the most battery life like there is on the General —> Battery function on the iPhone?
