Notifications not working after iOS 17 Update

Just found another issue. You can’t update apps in the App Store. What is happening? I’ve missed so many alerts, notifications and other things since this update. Apple these phones are our life lines. People use these for their businesses and now an important message or call are missed.

None of my previous purchased text tones were on my phone after the 17 upgrade, spent this morning buying all new ones and initially they showed up in the contacts info and now they're all gone. they're only recognized under ring tones. These are literally labeled as alert/text tones. So I just got had. $$ down the drain. Thanks Apple. Not cool and unhappy customer.

Yes that is the solution but I don't want to have it on! i'm asking apple to revert it back to the old way. I don't want someone to be able to see who is sending me messages and their picture when I give them the phone

I have different issue on my apple watch. I get alert tone on my watch, but no messages are showing up and I can't read them. The work around is to tick notification center under notification of the app on the phone which is not an idea for privacy as all messages are showing on my phone :(

Apple please fix this ASAP.

Has anyone also noticed how silent the new tones are compared to the classic ones?

So much for privacy and having to have who’s texting us on display by HAVING to set it to banner. Markup sucks now and I’d love to see autocorrect work while on all caps.

Theyve already made a 17.0.2 but it doesn’t fix THIS ISSUE. Go figure..

Its annoying and creates a real issue when we miss time sensitive texts and other notifications. But Yes call notifications are normal

I’m on a iPhone 12 and since 17.0.1 and 17.0.2 I have no notification sounds whatsoever when receiving them, I can change them but no sound when receiving them on any app, I’ve spent the last 24 hrs trying everything. This iOS is nothing short of a car crash for very expensive phones.

I have an iPhone 14 plus and use AirPod pro 2.

It didn’t work for me. This is getting frustrating. A lot of people are reporting this to Apple and it seems Apple is doing it on purpose. Do they actually want us to spend money? I hope they can they fix this issue.

That’s exactly what the Apple representative told me. She still didn’t understand that before the update you didn’t have to select Lock Screen , notifications center, or banners. She was trying to convince me that it has always been like that. Made her think twice when I told her I didn’t want my girlfriend to see my wife’s texts appear. Which is of course is not true. When I said that she said she couldn’t do anything else and that my case had to be escalated to an engineer. Wow. We are all here in the first place because the engineers messed this up!!!

I am also not receiving notifications well text notifications on my phone after the new iOS 17 update phone calls coming through like normal but no sound when I receive texts I have checked my settings also gone to reset it turn it off done everything and still no sound when receiving text Also does not vibrate also when receiving text when it’s on silent so pretty much this new update did something to the notifications for text messages.

Never messed with this setting, nor could I find it in the described location. The only Google results seem to point to a function to mirror the watch on the iPhone. Again, never use.

No setting changes were made prior to, or after the update.

I’m so sick of this! Why haven’t they fixed all the bugs?? The 17.0.2 didn’t fix anything with the notification sounds when you have the banners off AND I just noticed that sometimes when I go to turn the ring volume down via the side buttons, it turns down the regular volume that shows on the left of the screen and not the ringer volume at the top…. Smh

gosh dang APPLE come on!

absolutely outrageous, how many businesses are going to be damaged by this bug? I cant get any notification sounds now, been googling all morning and trying everything only to realise its a bug I cant fix.

I don’t have an Apple Watch.

I’m still having the same issues re sound for WhatsApp etc. I have an iPhone 14. I think it’s all models having issues though.

im very fed up with it as the phone isn’t doing what it’s supposed to.
