Notifications not working after iOS 17 Update

why do some have the issue but others don’t ?

this has been going on too long now and there seems no resolution to a very straightforward issue.

Excellent.. The solution worked. But this is really annoying. the best feature was working in older version. I dont want to keep messages notification on screen or locked screen. This is really unacceptable development.

Well I have waited for Apple to fix their big mistake and with missing to many notifications and still no sound alerts I am heading to the store today to go get an Android phone. Didn’t want to have to do it but I can’t keep missing notifications. I dread using an android but guess what Apple they work!!

I am having the same issues no notifications for any messages have tried everything to fix with no luck. This is beyond frustrating missing lots of important messages for work. Is there a fix coming any time soon?

I just upgraded to a 13 from a X and installed ios 17 on the new phone. The X doesn’t support 17. Now I get zero notifications and am having to haul around my old phone too just to get notifications. What the heck, Apple?

Can someone gather all the issus we are facing with notifications and send them to apple support center in order to settle this horrible case? We are so many I believe. We need to get notifications as before in all our devices at the same time. It makes no sense to get them either in watch or on iPhone.

Since latest update on my iPhone, I am unable to hear any notifications I receive on my Arlo security system. This is very frustrating!! I can’t rely on my security system for safety because I can’t hear the notices! Something needs to be done asap!!!

Yes the same for me you need at leadt one enable. But i do not want banners. Did you find a way to not select any one?

when apple is going to fix this?? I just want sounds not notification like al phones works. Sounds when you have a message only the basic

I spent most of the afternoon trying to get something to work; finally have sound on mail and messages. Several people I know have upgraded to 17.0.3 and do not have the issue, so not sure of the combination of factors are determining which devices are affected but it would be really nice if Apple would chime in.

Thanks Nsnowman - that works for me too and I can use it temporarily but I don't want notifications for banners, notification or Lock Screen - I don't want anything visible. Just the sounds.

APPLE - FIX THIS!!!

Okay, I need help! I updated to iOS 17.1 with high hopes that it would fix the sound notifications on just one app that I had put on my phone.

When the update was done I went into "SETTINGS", and then "NOTIFICATIONS". Under "NOTIFICATION STYLE" the app that I need help with is listed, and it has in gray underneath the app name "BANNERS, SOUNDS". When I press on the app name, it takes me to a screen where underneath the "ALERTS", (which all three are checked... i.e., "LOCK SCREEN", "NOTIFICATION CENTER", and "BANNERS" is the selection for "BANNER STYLE" which is listed as "temporary."

Right underneath the "BANNER STYLE" selection is the "SOUNDS" selection. It is all the way to the "RIGHT" and shows up in "GREEN", but when I press on it absolutely nothing happens.

If I am doing something wrong please let me know, or please write easy to follow instructions on how to fix this. I absolutely detest the mechanical sound that is being made whenever a notification for this app is received. Thank you all for your help, and I truly hope that someone can help me out.

The newest update did not fix the low notification sound for third party apps. Still getting rebound and not the tri tone. Ugh it’s useless. Still missing alerts for security cameras, weather, and basically all of them. I really I’m so disappointed. I know Apple doesn’t care. I know all of us sent Apple feedback and it did no good.

Welp, 17.1 did not fix the issue for me. While wearing the watch, I do not get a notification on the phone. I even turned on "Allow notifications while mirroring". Thinking that might fix it. Nope.

I’ve found something a bit weird with Mail on my iPhone 13 Pro Max running iOS17.1 (also happened on iOS17.0.1/2/3).

If I send an email to either my work or personal imap email accounts I get no notification until I unlock the phone and open the mail app.

If I send an email to my iCloud account I get the notification pretty quickly.

I checked my notification settings and they’re identical.

What could be causing this? It used to work fine on iOS 16, and I didn’t change any settings since the update.
