Notifications not working after iOS 17 Update

Just impossible to hear notifications I should receive on my Xiaomi security cameras. Security camera unuseful.

Seems to be the same for Arlo, Brink, …

Is it an issue .m4r / .caf files format ? A change iOS16 / iOS17.

Could it be because if you’re wearing a watch you’ll know it’s arrived so there’s no reason for the phone to make a sound?

(Either way, it’s still not working for me. I’m using airmail for notifications and mail for the emails as the constant nagging from airmail to “upgrade to pro” is annoying me)

Iphone SE (latest) . Pretty much same here. Since update to IOS 17 no notifications for Messenger , E-mail. or WhatsApp . Only 'sms messages' notifications working . Checked everything , tried everything - nothing works . I need these notifications . Hope an update can rectify this problem soon otherwise a switch to Samsung might be on the cards .

All my settings are as they should be including sound volume etc. My son ( who is not as daft as me ! ) has same phone and has updated IOS as I have and has not had any problems. He has checked my phone but cannot find why mine is playing up . I will let every one know if I solve my problem of course . Thanks again for your suggestion.

Apparently, this is indeed the case. Apple now claims that this is the intention. And if you have announce turned on with your Airpods in, that is the only place the notification will go. I normally have my watch on silent, and the taps alone are not enough. I at least want the phone screen to turn on with the notification.

Bet you can do this on an Android.

Same issue, I have changed every setting. I am having issues with connectivty on all my devices, airpods pro are not connecting properly now either. I have turned the volume on my watch up, the only way I get message notifications.

Has anyone heard if Apple plans on fixing the rebound sound back to tri tone? So many are so mad and upset they are missing alerts that are very important. Since the 17 update I’ve had so many issues dropped calls, text won’t go through you have to resend them. Like one user said weather security cameras and many other apps either such a low sound you miss it or you don’t even get an alert. I have sent many feedbacks to Apple. hoping the next update fixes it.

I have the iPhone 14 Pro Max with software up to date at iOS 17.1.1 There is only one app that I’m having notification problems with, Facebook. The notifications in settings on my phone for this particular app are on and all notifications in the Facebook app are turned on. I’ve tried logging out, deleting Facebook, shutting off my phone, turning my phone back on, redownloading Facebook, logging back in and nothing has helped me get my Facebook notifications back. I could really use some help. Anyone have any suggestions on why I’m not receiving Facebook notifications? TIA!!!

I have always had problems getting Facebook notifications well before the 17.X issues. If you Google it, you'll see a mountain of complaints going back years. Pretty terrible is you operate a business presence as I do.

Tried everything here and no mail, text, and other notification sounds… super annoying as I am missing timely messages!

P.S. my iPad Pro M1 with iPadOS 17.1.1 has the same issues.

I haven't had any iphone notifications since ios 16 over a year ago so don't feel bad. That update really broke it. I have tried EVERYTHING short of a complete wipe of the phone. 'Focus' is all turned off and everything allowed, but something in that update about a year and a half ago really borked it. No badges, no sounds, but they are in notification center. I just have to manually check that every time I use the phone. I hope they fix it some day maybe in ios18

I recently bought an iPhone 13 Pro Max and after setting up, I had all of my notifications set to “note” but for some reason my instagram notification is set to something else and even if I change it to another sound it continues to be that notification sound.

Its's the default notification sound that's the main problem and it's the only one that you don't have an option on. They removed it totally. I've went back to my iphone 7 that stopped updating at ios 15 and it works fine other than apple killed the battery. I'm just sick of them controlling everything.

Since the ios17 update I have not received any text message updates on my iPhone SE Gen2. No alerts. No sounds. No notice what so ever. I periodically check my phone to see a cache of text messages I was not aware of. It does not appear to have an effect on any other apps or notifications except for the apple messages app. How do I correct this? I have checked all the settings within the phone to make sure alerts and notifications were turned on, do not disturb turned off, and so on for texts and nothing has worked.
