AirPrint not working after iOS 17 Update

AirPrint was working on ios16 using a Canon printer connected to my home WiFi. I recently updated to ios17 and the printer shows up as an available printer but shortly disappears after selecting it. I am able to print on iPad os 16 and my MacBook Air on Ventura using AirPrint. I’ve reset network setting on both router iPhone and printer and I am still encountering same behavior. Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it or if it is a known bug in ios17? I’ve also restarted my phone and tested it on my partners iPhone which shows same behavior on ios17.

I have the same issue with Canon MF240 and no security software installed on my iPhone and iPad. Just updated to iOS 17.0.1 . The printer name shows up for a while and then disappears! I can print from my computer. I didn’t have this issue until before updating to iOS 17. Please fix this problem, it’s really annoying.

Use Samsung Mobile Print app from the Apple App Store , share /upload docs to the app and then print from within the app , it worked for my Samsung printer

Please update your firmware of your printer. It is so simple. I did and I have no problem now. Canon mf230

Good intel. I only have a Canon so I thought the problem was with them. This proves that this is an Apple issue.

I was able to fix the problem by installing firmware update for my Canon printer. Just search your printer on the internet to find out how to do it for your particular printer. Hope it helps!

We have the same problem with our Canon MF244 printer. We spent two days resetting everything. Nothing works. We sure need our AirPrint function working again.

I had the same problem with my Canon WiFi connected printer in iOS 17.3.1. Turns out it was the printer firmware. Updated the firmware and I can now print with no problem.

I have the same experience with all my iOS devices. I use an Epson ET-8500 and has been a great computer. I called Epson and got bumped up a couple of layers in their supports system but they could not solve the problem and threw back in Apple's lap. Very frustrating. I used to wait a while before updating operating systems but for a few years now there haven't been any major problems so I didn't worry about it. I am not going to update my MacBook Air until Epson takes the next step.

They obviously know about it, because one of their advisors told me on Saturday how to fix the problem. Been fine ever since just currently dont have Nortons VPN installed. I wait with bated breath to see what happens.
