Anyone else having issues with their Apple Watch not charging or poorly charging since upgrading to WatchOS 10? I've tried a hard reset of the Apple Watch - that resolved it the first time, but back to same issue after that initial full charge. I am using the same Apple charger I have been using for the past year when I bought my Apple Watch 8. There sure seems like a WatchOS problem.

Looks like there is a feature that prevents the watch from charging to 100% to extend the life of the battery. Same feature they have on MacBooks. Mine was Stuck on 79/80%. If you look at the battery indicator you will now see a small line where it stops charging. Tap on the battery indicator and then tap on charge to 100%. You should be good to go. Hope this helps. This was a poor rollout of this new feature.
Same here was working awesome before os 10 then stops at 85% and heats and getting problem with pairing never had any issues a week ago with os 9
Same problem here with the AppleWatch 7 of my wife. Slow charging to 80%, and fast drain when using. No problems before Watch OS10.
Only on the Watch itself. Settings>Battery>Battery Health. Never knew this was there before!
my watch got so hot that it burned my wrist, it's not holding a charge at all now and it's just about 16 months old. all from the 10.1 update!
The 10.1 update will basically render some watches useless. The drain is so fast. Don’t update.
This is happening because the watch is overheating and saving itself with heat, charging management.
I wanted to point out that I’ve had these charging issues since upgrading to watchOS and do *not* have, nor have never had “mobyface” installed.
Same issue for me as well. After updating to WatchOS10 the charging process takes way longer than before on my AWU. I'm actually using Belkin Boost Charge Pro 3 in 1 MagSafe Fast Charger, anyone else has the same issue with this charger after the upgrade ?
I've been having issues since the update. I've turned off optimized charging. I've done a factory reset. It's been sitting on the "fast" charger for 5 hours and is at 49%. They basically bricked our watches, Apple needs to fix this ASAP.
All the same issues are happening with my Watch! Tried everything listed and the problem isn’t resolved. I spoke to someone at the Apple Store and they had not heard anything yet. Sounds like there is a HUGE software issue.
Same issue here since wos10. I turned off the "optimized charging" setting. Watch charges to 93% then stops. Seems to heat more than normal when charging, and drains faster than before. Apple Watch 7.
Mine seems to be charging ok (normal) ... but discharge is not normal. Went to bed with 56%. I wear my watch when I sleep for sleep tracking. Of course I have it on theater mode and silent. And yet it still "died". Went to minimal power, so my alarm did not go off. Thankfully I overslept by only 20 minutes.
A watch in sleep mode/theater mode should not drain that much.
I spent 30 mins on the phone with an Apple staff member who could not get her head around me telling her this only happened since I did an update last night. As things stand I’ve got a box coming to send it back to their technicians to look at but if this is a software issue of their making that’s gonna be a waste of time isn’t it?
This is crazy. My watch finally charged overnight, took it off the charger, deleted a few non Apple apps that I don’t use anyway and put it back on the charger. It’s gone from 100% to 73% in just under an hour yet it’s still on the charger with green flashbolt and circle displayed top right hand corner. How on earth can it be “charging” yet still losing charge !!
Since the latest iOS upgrade the watch, which used to charge incredibly quickly, now charges very slowly. When I tap on the battery icon as suggested, I only get one menu choice, and that is low power mode. I do not see the "charge to 100%" option that you are talking about
