iPhone call history shared between devices after iOS 17 Update

on my primary device I have iCloud -> contacts turned off, also handoff is turned off on both devices.

Before iOS 17.0, each of my 2 devices has its private call log & contacts.

After iOS 17.0 on both devices, I started to see the call history of both devices on my primary device.

Since the update, I have attempted all the techniques to stop the call log from my husband's phone appearing on my phone. It is very annoying not to be able to look at your previous calls to determine who called you instantly without questioning whether the number called you or your husband. I hope that Apple listens and is able to correct whatever was turned on or at least allow us to disable call logs from other devices.

Stop this madness, I'm self employed, want to share photos between phones and a few apps but want totally defined differences on my work vs home cell phones, now I don't know what voicemails are for work, and what voicemails are for home and I get tons of calls every day that need to stay separate. I do not want to buy another phone from another manufacturer, I need two phones but you're pushing me to do that. Turn this **** back off.

One Apple ID is one person. It means sharing passwords, sharing two-factor notifications, shared everything.

Want separation? Use two Apple IDs, and set up Family Sharing and shared albums, or use two Apple IDs and use AirDrop to transfer the files.

I believe since to many lawyers here saying stop sharing same ID

i have questions

i have to phones

one for friends and family, one for customers in work

so when i go home, i silent my work phone,

so u guys blaming us for using the same id

i have questions. Then i will give the solution

1- do i have to buy each application 2 times. ?

2- why did this sh… happened only in ios 17

3- since u are saying use 2 ids mr lawyers, why i have option to turn everything else. Only phone calls cannot change.

gentelmen

my solution. I beleive. That since we have 2 iphones, Its better to switch to android. At least, only 1 android

i beleive. That will make life easier, Im already ****** off. Cuz when i backup my phone on laptop, Cuz why waste money on iCloud monthly payment for 512gb phone

i think. Its time to change. Since Ios 17.2 didnt solve the problem

and we have some apple lawyers here. Saying. Stop sharing 1 id for ur own 2 phones

i guess we should stop ising 2 iphone

cuz i wont pay for each app 2 times

if someone thinks im wrong

please. Tell me

That’s not true at all. It doesn’t mean sharing emails, notes, photos, passwords, iMessage….they all have a switch to turn them off. Actually so does the phone but oddly enough all these experts that seem to know exactly what Apple is thinking, still can’t even answer the simple technical question of what that switch is for.

I found a solution that in my case works.

I have the same problem and after Call the support center they can’t give a reasonable solution, I had disable in iCloud in both devices with the same ID: iMessage, FaceTime, calls, etc and still appearing the calls registered in the two iPhone, the only option that I didn’t have disable in iCloud was contacts,I disabled it in the two devices and the registered call , missed or responded doesn’t appear in both phones, now only appear in the right phone that receive the call.

Thank you for the link. Regardless of “proper operation,” this sharing has not been the case in the past and so should not be happening suddenly without authorization.

Undocumented "features" often go away without notice. No "authorization" is required for Apple to change how their software works. All you can do is provide feedback and hope others do the same.

I have updated my iOS to 17.2 just now and it seems that this has not been fixed. All our devices which is in the same apple id are all syncing the same call log. I have called the apple support and they said this issue has not been fixed yet. Apple Engineers when will you fix this annoying call history being shared with all the devices??? This has not a helpful features of iphone.. this is so annoying!!!!

You are not speaking with anyone from Apple, on this user to user only forum. You will likely be waiting forever for Apple to change this. They do NOT believe this is an issue and as long as you insist on sharing an Apple ID with multiple people, your call logs and voicemail messages will be merged.

Either live the merged logs or do what Apple has suggested for years and STOP sharing an Apple ID.

And if you look up a few posts, you'll see where someone else spoke with Apple Support, who told them this is exactly how its supposed to work and the ONLY way to separate the call logs is to stop sharing an Apple ID.

Do as you wish, but you'll likely be waiting forever for Apple to do anything about this as it's clear this is by design from Apple.

Your choice.

Well, in my case, brand new Apple 14 just got it trying to learn how to use it. My prior android was I’ve been controlled remotely by someone who knew all my personal information and had vendetta and they chose to remotely control my iPhone so with that being said, everything that I do is singing everything that I say, is being recorded and shared. oh, the most important part is they’re doing this acting like that they’re me.
