Memojis disappeared after iOS 17 upgrade

I just upgraded to iOS 17 and now my memojis have all disappeared. I checked for how to get them back and found a process that involves the App Store button that SHOULD be next to a camera icon when I open my messages app. Neither the camera nor the App Store icon appears. Without these, I can't proceed to the next steps. I tried looking in Settings to see if I just needed to enable a keyboard, but there was nothing there to enable.

I downloaded a memoji keyboard from the App store, but it's clunky to use - not seamless like the memojis I used to have. How can I get them back?

In new message hit happy face icon by the space bar, Hit "show Stickers", scroll action bar at the top to the right, hit memoji icon and the personalized faces show up. Very complicated compared to the old way. Liked that much better.

TRY THIS

#1

now, since you already pushed that + don’t push it now but other people that are in this discussion can push it and your emojis and stuff should be there, sometimes I don’t know the name so I’m using pictures and I’m not gonna fix all these voice corrections just some of them🙂

Ok marijke182, push inside the box to bring up the keyboard

#2

push the😀next to the space bar…

#3

push the sticker icon between the girl with blonde hair and the red apple the grayed-out symbol…

now, right above the thumb and to the right are the oval icons I was talking about now scroll to the right. Mine was in the middle, and it still is and all my Memojis and stickers and everything I made are also on the left now, so I guess that never disappears and mine looks like this…

👇👇

#5 or 6👆👆👆 push the one showing with the hearts it usually has that position but sometimes that will change it’s not always hearts ❤️ ❤️but 99% of the time it is but you should know your own icons?

I Hope it works. Let me know. 🤞

PS. You have to be in the English keyboard!! I mentioned I have a lot of keyboards, but you have to be in the default English keyboard, and if you speak a different language, pick the keyboard of your language, and it should be the same as English, but in your language and sometimes when you push the steps, it will go out of that keyboard, so just make sure you’re in your default keyboard, which should be your language. Mine is English. That’s the one you start off with before you add other ones.

and don’t forget to touch the pictures to expand them if you don’t see what I’m talking about because the picture is not showing it touch it move it around. It’s in there they were bigger, but APPLE only lets certain size in so I made it where you can still see everything I’m talking about. It’s really simple, you do it all the time when you’re making messages 😎👍👋

Reunable your emoji keyboard from the keyboard settings of your iPhone and check if it solves the problem.

Second, reset Predictive emojis on the iPhone. First, turn off the Predictive emojis, then wait for a few seconds, and then again turn on the Predictive emojis.

Lastly, your iPhone should be updated to the latest version of iOS (According to your device).

If you have iOS 17 and you cannot use your Memojis on Facebook messenger, you have to drag the Memoji you want and put it into the reply field.

In order to find your Memojis, you click on the happy face as usual. Then you have to click on that icon that looks like a half folded circle and you should be able to find all of your memojis there. You have to click on all the ones that you use frequently and they will show up next time on the bottom left where they usually are.

I did the more recent iOS Update 17/.1.2 and my keyboards including bitmojies (never had memojies) are back where they belong on the additional keyboards. The others are in stickers and there are only a limited number of those. UGH. Fix what ain't broke! Annoying. (note I had bitmoijis saved as a keyboard prior to the 17.1.1 update. so that's how they came back)

I've read in numerous posts in this thread about this problem. I may have missed a post about what I found but it appeared that most of the posts were suggesting doing it by selecting Memoji in the drop-down from the +. I went ahead and selected "stickers" instead which brought a narrowband of stickers you could scroll through right under the txt bubble...where I then also then found my memoji, and when i tapped on it I went to stickers instead. a small row of stickers will appear underneath your text bubble where you can scroll right and left. When you tap on and will bring up all of the different emotions as well.

and off-topic I know, but just to share, another thing that's happening to me right here now in 7.1.2 is that the same paragraph I wrote repeated itself twice more underneath in the same post so I had to go back and delete them.

now I need to try to find a thread to see how many other people have had the same other really annoying problems I have had in the meds age app. It's driving me insane!
