Memojis disappeared after iOS 17 upgrade

Same here on previous update I lost my Memojis, some trail and error for awhile and found my Memojis by hitting smiley then hitting recent and what looks like a half apple and they all popped out, now with newest version update same lost, tried previous version no luck, googled tried above recommendations no luck, trial and error not to much computer savvy over 60 years male & pension retired over 10 years very blessed not ssn disabled, did have to learn to use windows at for over 16yrs at work, way to many emails, reports etc… all on windows, my wife says I spent to much time on phone, I do everything on phone you name it everything is online, I thought when I retired I was done just golf nope besides honey do’s and I don’t have a Facebook. Okay back to finding my Memojis. Tap Smily and half apple then on top bar attached pic tap left of edit, hope it works for you all . Apple should besides conducting frequent updates to improve for whatever should have a hotline for issues like this, I’m still trying to update my old ring tones, cancel some notifications and who knows what else pops up

Everything DuanefromConcord said is correct. The only thing I would add is that you can get rid of the additional options for stickers that are there, so that the first thing you see is Memojis. When you scroll and get the emojis at the very end of the scroll action is the option to edit and then you can turn off all those other options they give you so that when you hit the Smiley the emoji option comes up the second or third across.

Memojis are there but invisible. To add a bit more detail, my Memojis became "invisible" in the area where you would choose them after installing iOS 17.4. If you tap in the now "blank" area a memoji will be added to your text but you are randomly guessing because you cannot see them. I have an iPhone 13 Plus Max running iOS 17.4.

I have tried all of the usual "fixes", soft reboot, hard reboot, disconnecting and reconnecting to the iCloud, reset network settings, reinstalling the entire phone after wiping it clean and using a backup from iOS 17.3 (the phone refuses to revert to 17.3 however and just reinstalls 17.4), all with no success. Unless I missed something I'm not sure we can fix this on our end.

As noted in your other post, they were there before the update.

I have 17.01 and NO Memojis! Can create one but it does not appear with standard emojis. Do I have to create it every time I want to use it? That would be beyond inconvenient and irritatingly dumb

Update to 17.0.1 did not fix the memoji problem.

The only Memoji there is the animation version where you record 🤷🏽‍♀️

I’ve followed everyone’s direction, and still I cannot find my Memojis. There are a few frequent used ones, but not the entire list. And where has the option to edit a Memoji gone?

Not true for me; too bad I can’t reinstall ios16. It’s a real pain trying to retrieve my Memojis!!
