Memojis disappeared after iOS 17 upgrade

Hi.. thank you for this I’ve finally got my stickers back. Would have been helpful if Apple had mentioned this change and how to retrieve after upgrading to ios17.

And as far as I know they still haven’t corrected the fact that iPad 10.7 2022 isn’t compatible with 1st gen Apple Pencil although they are/were promoting that it is. When I called Apple they said it was a software issue and would be put right (that was a few months back) but do far it hasn’t! Apple losing its grip??? lol

found the memojis but they are not the same and can't be personalized like the previous version. Not happy with update 17.1.1 took me hours just to get back into my phone! Took me all the way back to "hello" SE3

Mine were gone too this morning after I downloaded the software update, but tonight they have reappears I ser ‘More’. I suspect it just took some time for everything previously available downloaded under the newest update.

I found it after I used this technique but it made me re-create my emoji. I used to have Bantu knots and now I cannot find that option. Super bummed. I want my old one back! Maybe that’s why some of them went away? Because some of the features are no longer available?

unfortunately, it made me go back in and create a new one, which I don’t like at all. I can’t seem to get my old one back and some of the features that were on my previous one are no longer available. I should’ve just waited. Oh well- gotta move on.

Agree with this because I can’t and haven’t been able to get my Memojis back! Too many complicated steps to ever use them again. Not sure who in the Apple tech team that came up with this update but it doesn’t work and I really will have to think long and hard about any new updates from here on out! Pretty sure there will be more people thinking about using a different phone service from here on out!

I suggest we all tell Apple what we think about this upgrade on Social Media! There is a way to DOWNGRADE there is a Video on Youtube. but it is long and involved! I am going on THE social Media Wagon and BLAST AWAY! Join if you want !

How did you get them? I got to a place to re-create Memojis but got interrupted and now can’t get back there no matter what I try!

Not happy with Apple; they need to post EXACT directions on how to recover all these Memojis, etc!

It's all there, you just have to take a couple of extra steps. Hit the "+", and it'll show a few of the mini apps. If you don't see the one you're looking for in that shortlist, then tap "more" to view the rest, and tap the one you need.

I found the memojis, but none of expressive, holiday, birthday, or celebratory ones are there. I am so sorry I upgraded now because I don’t use the plain memojis and I’m really going to miss them. Apple, you need to bring them back!!!

I have mine when I go to stickers but still can’t find out how to get the suggested ones when you type a word and it customizes one for you. For example, I don’t see any holiday themed ones for Thanksgiving today.

I had the same thing happen. My sister advised me what to do and it worked. Just go to message and address a text to someone. Go to compose and click on the + sign that is to the left. You will see a lot of options. Click on ‘more’ and scroll down to the Memoji icon. You should find your talking Memoji there.

press + sign

choose More

the red button for images is there

press and search box opens

choose your image!!!!!

have not figured out how to get that red button back in text area yet

The Memoji are found by pressing the + button next to the text box, but it doesn’t save them when you come back to your messages. It wants you to create a new memoji every time and it’s not the whole body with the different expressions, it’s just the head

They are gone in my 17.1.1 update. I don't see where I can access Photo Library while in iMessages either.

Thanks for the information to go to the plus sign next to the text box. Besides emojis, it lists the other things I was looking for.
