Safari freezing on iPhone 12 Pro Max after iOS 17 update

Same problem here on iPhone 13 Pro with iOS 17.0.3. Holding out hope for 17.1.

I actually had to use chrome to get to this article.

The problem persists on iPad Pro 11 2st Generation with iPadOS 17.1 RC.

Safari now is an absolute disaster.

I just tried clearing everything in Safari settings, but it is no better now, on 17.0.3 now (ipad mini 5).

Why are Apple saying nothing about this major problem, either here or somewhere more official?

It must be affecting all the millions of people who are upgrading ios etc now!

I cleared my safari history and websites and it made no difference. 🤬Anyone have other suggestions that might work?

Did you update to 17.3? That seems to have worked for most people.

Have not updated to 17.3 yet. Almost afraid to unless Apple states that it will fix the safari problem.

I didn’t see any notes form Apple either but updated and worked for me. Update and it should work. Worked for several people on a Reddit discussion on this very issue.

I am new here and having this same problem! So frustrating. About to toss this and get android!! Safari is not loading Google at all or extremely slow.

Not sure if it’s exactly the same issue most were having but updating to the phone to at least 17.3 fixed the issue for most.

On 7.3.1 by now, but no improvement. How do you know this about “most people”?

There are multiple threads on this issue between here and Reddit.

I updated to 17.3.1. Safari still doesn’t work properly. Same issue as before. I wonder when Apple will acknowledge this problem and provide a fix???
