iPhone lagging and slow after iOS 17 Update

My IPhone 13 has been considerably slower ever since I updated it to ios 17.

Its never been this way in ios 16!

while using safari, I am witnessing frame drops. My keyboard is not smooth. While check for background apps, It’s stuttering and the app overall scroll seems very sluggish and lots of frame drops.

i have more than 50Gb storage space available and my battery capacity is still above 80%.

Even while typing this, My keyboard seems sooooo sluggish!

please help me and suggest me some useful tips to resolve this apart from the usual force restart and all fixes!

I was advised to:

(1) Reset the dictionary back to the default (for me, that is just English)

(2) Make sure all apps are turned off

(3) Restart the phone

(4) Test the lag whether still happening

(5) Add back dictionaries needed.

It seemed to work for me thereafter.

Additional step suggested was to turn off the Predictive text in Keyboard as part of the above, then add it back in after restarting the phone.

17.3 new bugs. Still a mess. Fix a few things, break more things. Tried to take a picture from the Lock Screen, and the camera app opens to a black screen. App opened, but I guess didn't wake up the camera module. I had to hit the power off (not reboot) and wake again and pre the camera icon on the Lock Screen. Worked the second time, but missed the orange birds I was trying to take a picture of.

17.3 bugs continue. Watching streaming show with my 2nd gen AirPods. Suddenly, no more sound in my ears and the sound is playing out of the phone. While this is happening, I don't remote my AirPods from my ears, the streaming continues, and I check Bluetooth - AirPods ARE SHOWING AS CONNECTED. I had to tap on the AirPods listed in Bluetooth to get them to connect again. Nothing is reliable from Apple anymore.

After the iOS 17 download, my phone is a total slug, like everone else's. Time for a new phone, but it ain't gonna be an Apple. All these engineers who need a job, piling up more and more features, more junk, just so they have work. More is better. All these people pretending like they didn't just totally screw up. What a mess. Who's in charge? I'll be lucky if I can even send this. I need a completely different platform that is efficient. Apple has been on its way out for a while, but this is WAY OUTSIDE!

Well 17.3 is here. I decided to try connecting Bluetooth to my car again to see if I could drop the iPod wire to my USb port to get music in my Honda. Worked for a few days and I thought, "It's fixed"! But silly me, thinking that Aside wanted to fix anything... same old missing album artwork, and random drop outs for up to 30 seconds. The music is still playing and my iPhone still says connected, but static drop outs continue. APPLE: I don't want to leave after more than a decade and my iPhone 3, but this toxic relationship has to end. Out of focus photos, audio issues WITH YOUR MUSIC AND PODCAST APPS, keyboard issues, incredibly bad autocorrection, and dropped calls. The implied usability of the phone is not reliable.

It is trully terrible on iPhone se 2020. I regret and I wish to have a choice to get back…

I was using a lot of reading pdf feature. But now it is almost useless. It stops running in the middle of the text. And when I mark the beginning of the paragraph it only reads a paragraph and don’t move further.

Memories app is also super crappy as in ios 16 with no possibility to dorect influence of given clips lenght.

And camera app? And transitions between apps? why so laggy????

i regretted updating to ios 17.3! i believed in their advise to update to avoid bugs and security, but i think i updated a bug instead of protecting my phone because since i updated my iphone 15 plus to ios 17.3 very bad things happened that i always being logged out from the internet and calls are so choppy. this is first time i experienced this things from an update. i hope APPLE will do something about this because it’s causing a lot of stress since it’s an essential accessory for my work.

Seems like everybody has their own unique issues with ios 17.3 update! I have the iphone 11 that’s served me well until 17.3. Now I’ve lost sound for texts, emails, etc, and have also experienced the rapid battery drain like some others have. I tried numerous fixes that have been posted, but none worked for the sound except one I came up with on my own: disabling bluetooth. Got the sound back all right, but not having bluetooth is a huge inconvenience b/c I can’t use my other devices that depend on it! Not satisfactory in the long run!! I’ve had iphones for years & prefer them to android but will be getting android phone as soon as I decide on a replacement. Very sad situation. But I just can’t wait for Apple to stop fuffering around and come up with fixes for all of us. :(
