My daughter can t connect to SharePlay music app in iOS 17 CarPlay saying feature unavailable on account
does any know why or how to change?
Had the same issue. Got it to work by having Apple Music open on both phones before CarPlay connected. Had passenger try and join SharePlay then on my phone I opened the now playing and there was a 1 beside the SharePlay icon, tapped the SharePlay icon hit the green check mark and it worked.

I’m not convinced about the child account thing.
My daughter couldn’t connect so I thought I would try with my wife’s phone. Her’s won’t connect either.
Just says “There was an error joining”.
Hopefully a fix will be issued soon.
We were looking forward to this option so much, but both my daughters can’t use it. I really hope an update will let them able to use the SharePlay in the car. Listening music together is so much more fun than all with headphones.

Car Play works on my 11yo daughter when is connected to my car. It’s just the share play option the one that doesn’t work on car play.
The whole deal with share play is that she doesn’t have to use my phone. Apple better fix this
For my 18yo, after he scans the QR code, the popup box that comes up has a greyed out button and he can't continue on to join. My 14 and 16 year old have gotten it to work on their updated iPhones once or twice and then never again. My husband and I can usually use it with each other.

Same issue here. One kid can access it, the other one gets the same error.
Yeah everyone updated to iOS 17 and tried restarting the phone, so weird, there is not even share play icon on the music app her phone

I'm having the same issue. My daughter has some restrictions enabled on her phone but not many.
I have the same problem. So bad. If she activate it with Safari it work a couple of minutes. Then the connection lost again
Yeah this is insane. Who else would want to add to shared music in my car other than MY KIDS!!! From their iPhones.
Have you seen how they implemented profiles in Safari on Sonoma - not too stupid for them apparently
But it’s strange because my 12 year old has zero restrictions for Apple Music, so especially in a car with adults who supervise it makes no sense.
Curious what you mean by parent controlled? Do you mean their device that is setup with ScreenTime settings or they are apart of your "family" and are listed as a child due to their age?
