Since upgrading my Ultra (first gen) to watchOS 10, the Compass app has been non-functional. It cannot find the lat/long. I cannot save waypoints. It has no idea where it is.
I've tried repairing the Watch twice and once I set the device up as a new Watch. Still no joy.
Is anyone else having troubles with Compass on watchOS 10 on an Ultra?

Had the same issue. Solved by reset the location and privacy on iPhone. Go to settings -> general -> transfer or reset iPhone -> reset -> reset location & privacy. After reset, reopen the compass app on watch and grant location permission.
Still got this red radar on my Apple watch se tried resetting watch as if it were new and get the same thing next step is to go visit a store but they are really busy so guess other people have got issues too

I've been through all the suggestions. Like others, workouts store location but Compass is brain-dead. Also, location aware temperature isn't working.
Update: watchOS 10.0.1 did not fix this issue.
I'm glad (if that's the right word) that others are seeing the same problem. I've had a hard time understanding how the watchOS 10 update could've killed the GPS hardware. But that was where I was going until I saw that others are experiencing the same issue.
It's software -- an embarrassment for Apple. Major bugs like this used to be feature of the annual updates, until the last few years in which Apple seems to have gotten it together.
watchOS 10 breaks the streak. Badly.
I think you only get it with the OS, no? It's not removable like other apps.
Kind of an embarrassing thing, no, for the version of the device that's geared towards being used outdoors, no?
Worse the (utterly) useless and hyped "3D" views work -- just not where you are. :-)
a little hesitant to update the watch OS (10.0.2) if the compass fix has not been resolved ... did anyone update to the new update 10.0.2 and see the update fix the compass issue without having to do any reset (location and reboot) on ultra 1/2 and 9 ?
assuming you did this before updating to 10.0.2, then compass app is working. After updating to 10.0.2 was compass ok or did you have to do the above again (i.e. force close compass, reset location+privacy) - that is the question

I know about six friends in total that they have the same problem with both the Apple Watch Ultra first and second generation.
