Wi-fi stopped working after upgrading to iOS 17.0.1

I am having trouble with my internet connection since downloading the latest iOS update 17.0.1. I am only able to access the internet through cellular data. My other devices are working on the wi-fi network normally. This issue began immediately after installing the update.

iPhone 11, iOS 17

Update: I updated the software to 17.0.2 and still experiencing the same issue. One workaround I found is that my iPhone 11 will only connect to the wi-fi network (WPA2) when turning off the “Private Wi-fi Address” setting. I hope this issue gets addressed in a further update.

I'm having horrible Wi-Fi connectivity as well. I had the Beta and worked with no issues. In the days following the actual update I started having problems when on Wi-Fi. My connection is fast when it's working but it's very problematic:

  1. Videos on IG and Twitter/X stop in the middle.
  2. Connecting to my Apple TVs to use as remote is also horrible, needing over 5 minutes to see the boxes. Also after connecting to one of them, it gets disconnected again constantly.
  3. Opening some links in Safari also fails sometimes with "page not available" and then it works when refreshing.

All other phones and devices in the house work perfectly, so it's not my router. I have an iPhone 14 Pro. I have tried the Network settings reset and also forgetting the Router and connecting to it again.

I had same problem also since 17.1 update. I would just turn Wi-Fi or cellular off and back on. Would have to do that every time. Then for mobile cell service I just happen to be changing carriers, from Straighttalk to Spectrum Mobile. No problems ever since then. But my iPad still acts up. I just turn Wi-Fi of and back on and it’s fine. I don’t have cullular on that. Wi-Fi only.

Samen issue here. iPhone 11 updated to 17.0.1 on a stable mesh WiFi setup. Drops connection all the time. Or even shows WiFi connection but nothing loads.

No such issues before the update. No issues on an other iPhone 13, 2 iPads and an android work phone.

restarted the modem, restarted the 3 WiFi adapters throughout the house, forgot the network and reconnected, restarted the iPhone numerous times. Nothing works.

Same issues here also. iPhone 11 stated with 17.0 update - everything fully stable and functional for years. Then the update and WiFi switch is greyed out. NO WiFi capability, cell still functional.

I have:

Reset the Network Settings

Restored iOS 17.0, 17.0.1, and now 17.0.2

Forced hard restarts

Nothing has helped restore WiFi.

iPhone also heats up or frequently crashes even when not being interacted with. "Oh, there's the Apple logo again..."

This device was rock solid prior to attempting the iOS 17 upgrade. Now it is crippled.

This is happening to me as well. I can say that it definitely has something to do with IOS 17 update. Iphone 15 Pro Max would not connect to WIFI unless I turned cellular data OFF. Then, WIFI would run very well. Ipad Pro - WIFI only model worked great before updating to latest OS version, literally after the update the connection failed. I have to connect to my wife's hotspot on her 14 Pro Max (running on IOS 16) to get it to work at all.

Same with me: after update to 17.01 my Iphone 12pro max and also my iphone XR (work) I don’t have wifi connection.

Several restarts and reconnection doesn’t work.

The WiFi symbol says the devices are connected, but there is no signal and no acces to the modem (FritzBox).

All other devices work well.

Never had this problem before. Update 17.01 is faulty!

I found that we had similar issues with our corporate WiFi as noted in this thread. One fix was to connect the iPad Pro to a network dock via USB-C. It seemed to fix/reset the cert, but I'm uncertain if this was because it was able to connect to InTune correctly. I will be trying the test later this week with affected iPhones and Lighting->USB-C or Ethernet adapter.

Every single device in my house connects to my mesh network except my iPhone, 2 iPads and MacBook Air. IIt happened after updating to 17.4.1 last week. I’ve spent hours trying to figure out what the problem was (and yes I deleted my VPN Profile and reset my network settings only to finally figure out it’s the Apple update. My husband hadn’t updated his devices but updated his iPhone this morning and now he’s unable to connect to the internet. His iPad is no longer supported so it can’t be updated. It’s amazing because it connects to the internet perfectly, as all our devices did prior to updating each. SMH

When can we expect for this to be resolved? I’m hoping to hear asap.

It’s causing huge issues and it’s absolutely not acceptable.

Obviously, at least I hope all of the comments are being read and it’s understood there’s absolutely an issue which must be addressed. I know if it were a celebrity, musician or any Apple upper management or their family this would be taken care of immediately.
