Wi-fi stopped working after upgrading to iOS 17.0.1

I am having trouble with my internet connection since downloading the latest iOS update 17.0.1. I am only able to access the internet through cellular data. My other devices are working on the wi-fi network normally. This issue began immediately after installing the update.

Update: I updated the software to 17.0.2 and still experiencing the same issue. One workaround I found is that my iPhone 11 will only connect to the wi-fi network (WPA2) when turning off the “Private Wi-fi Address” setting. I hope this issue gets addressed in a further update.

I am glad it works for you now, however I doubt this solution will work for me. I work at a large company where IT reports that dozens of other iOS 17 iPhones' Wifi works just fine using certificate authentication, however my iPhone experiences this Wifi issue. For at least me and likely others, there must be some other somewhat rare condition that causes this.

It’s been terrible! It happened after 17.0 was released, even when updating a version of 16 on my SE. My Wi-Fi networks rapidly flash on and disappear in settings, no networks are visible in Other (not my home or printers or neighbors). Under edit I can see my home network and everything looks fine but there is also a blank ghost network. If I turn off auto-join or delete it it comes back. Forget this network isn’t available. Maybe one out of 3 times, if I turn my phone off and on I might connect to my home network briefly. Resetting network settings hasn’t helped. Sometimes it acts possessed and if I try to turn off the Wi-Fi it won’t let me or the reverse- when it’s off it won’t let me turn it back on. My son thinks the updates have broken the PLIST. I have no clue what that means. I also own an Android and am having to use it for almost everything- to use my printers, act as my TV remote, listen to music in car. Driving me nuts because I have to carry the iPhone for work VPN login and I hadn’t carried the Android for 6 months-until this happened the Android was my garbage phone for my 9 yr old to play some old games like Plants vs Zombies.

Exactly. I can’t even see my networks to select them. My home network is visible in edit but there is an unnamed ghost network that can’t be forgotten, can’t be deleted, can’t turn off auto-join (without it coming back and breaking more things like making it impossible to turn Wi-Fi off or on. Resetting network to factory doesn’t help (resolves for a few minutes at most). I hate this update. It’s completely made my phone worthless.

i was expecting this ios to FIX the wifi issue, but after seeing what some people have to say, as well as 503 "ME TOO's..."

apple. i have to berate you for this. you should not be this incompetent at fixing the one thing EVERY iphone needs. i have had to deal with an iphone that acts like a moody teenager around wifi for the past... basically half a year now. and i am a moody teenager right now as i say this! i should not be comparing my iphone with my basic self, and do so for HALF A YEAR.

and apple, you can't even give us the "then get a new phone" excuse, because i bet your "totally strong" titanium iphone 15 doesn't allow wifi to be turned on. fix this issue. nobody should be switching to android, because that's not what you want out of your customers. you should be keeping them in. so keep your wifi on.

It would appear that, much like my original response, the WiFI issues I previously described, have vanished.

At the risk of having this response removed, can anyone else verify?

I’m super 100% sure I’m only running 17.0.1 on an iPhone 15 Pro, and not an iOS 17.1 beta on an iPhone 12 Pro, for which these issues persisted *cough* iCloud Relay DNS *cough* 😉
