Wi-fi stopped working after upgrading to iOS 17.0.1

I am having trouble with my internet connection since downloading the latest iOS update 17.0.1. I am only able to access the internet through cellular data. My other devices are working on the wi-fi network normally. This issue began immediately after installing the update.

iPhone 11, iOS 17

  1. Go to the “Settings” app on your phone.
  2. Go to “General.”
  3. Choose “VPN.”

Remove !ALL! VPN profiles, and configurations on your iPhone.

The cellular and WiFi will work fine.

Well, then no wifi when traveling! You would think Apple could support a customer of 30 years when they spend $900 on a new phone and there are connectivity issues due to an upgrade that is supposed to make the device more efficient. The new phone was absolutely worthless on my last business trip. I had to buy an inexpensive Android to be able to communicate with my business associates.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

After downloading 17.0.1, two iPhones in one household, had service annd connectivity interruptions in WiFi. WiFi source is a WOW cable modem. Since the modem offers 5.0G and 2.4G settings we’ve always used the 5.0G. Months ago we had trouble with our LG Smart TV 17“scrolling” to find a signal while watching. We learned the best WiFi setting was 2.4G for that and no longer have scrolling issues, the same now applies to our iPhones! Switch off the 5.0G and load the 2.4G and “voilà” no more connectivity issues, DONE!

Same problem with my IPhone 11 ProMax after the update. Apps like IG, FB stop videos in middle or don’t refresh, other apps automatically make me log in every time and don’t remember my login data, my Siri voice changed on its own and even tho I changed it back, it changed it again on it’s own next day?? Some safari sites say can’t load or page can’t be displayed, getting “privacy warning” on my secure personal WiFi - even tho the private address setting is on. So many issues- everyone else in my house have a standard iPhone 11 and have no issues…super annoying and hope Apple resolves these issues soon!!!

I had the exact same issue - pages slow to load across multiple wifis.

a fix that seems to have worked for me since yesterday:

I went into Wi-Fi, clicked on my Wi-Fi name (the “i” button), switched off “Private Wi-Fi Address” and then switched it back on again, then switched off Wi-Fi and switched it back on again.

I updated my iPhone 12 Pro Max last night to iOS 17.4.1 and just had this issue. Workarounds did NOT work. What actually worked for me IMMEDIATELY was going to General - About - Name and changing the name on my phone because it had been changed back to “iPhone”.

Maybe this will help others if their phone’s “name” has been changed after an update.

Every single device in my house connects to my mesh network except my iPhone, 2 iPads and MacBook Air. IIt happened after updating to 17.4.1 last week. I’ve spent hours trying to figure out what the problem was (and yes I deleted my VPN Profile and reset my network settings only to finally figure out it’s the Apple update. My husband hadn’t updated his devices but updated his iPhone this morning and now he’s unable to connect to the internet. His iPad is no longer supported so it can’t be updated. It’s amazing because it connects to the internet perfectly, as all our devices did prior to updating each. SMH

When can we expect for this to be resolved? I’m hoping to hear asap.

It’s causing huge issues and it’s absolutely not acceptable.

Obviously, at least I hope all of the comments are being read and it’s understood there’s absolutely an issue which must be addressed. I know if it were a celebrity, musician or any Apple upper management or their family this would be taken care of immediately.
