Wi-fi stopped working after upgrading to iOS 17.0.1

I have tried everything in this forum and other articles online. I haven’t been able to use WiFi for like a month!! My Mac is also struggling to connect! I can’t believe Apple is allowing this to continue. This is atrocious service. Helloooooo!!!! Apple!!!!! Are you there?!?!

I experience the same problem. Though the Wifi-menu indicates the phone is connected the symbol in the top bar is not showing.

Additionally, the mobile data connection is extremely slow - if it is working at all.

Update:

The issue "no data connection" could be solved by deactivating the icloud private relay.

Unfortunately, the wifi-issue remains.

After update to IOS17 my phone refuses to use internet via wifi and is extremely slow via 5G. Devices connected to the wifi system are being recognised and can be used for airdrop. I used wifi in several locations with different routers. It makes no difference which router it is connected to. My ipad and other iphone function perfectly as does the iphone of my wife.

The routers cannot be the problem. The 5 G system also not.

the 5G connection is throttles down soo much that regular apps like tiktok instagr facebook time out and refuse to function.

only by using safari I can receive something. My Whatsap continues to try to connect.

I just got off the phone with apple and I must say im thinking of switching back to samsung! I pay thousands of dollars for phones that they are unaware of fixing! My phone is doing the same thing and they said its normal ok apple🫨🙄

APPLE PLEASE fix the internet connection issues with cell data and Wi-Fi resulting from the iOS 17.1.1 update. I have not been connect to the internet using cell data (when I am NOT on Wi-Fi) since I updated my phone with iOS 17.1.1. I cannot use any cell data AT ALL to connect to the internet. This is EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING and inconvenient.

I am struggling with all my apple devices (iPhone 13, IPad Air, Mac Book) since the upgrade. Right now, I need to use my Mac Book for my business, and it won't connect to Wi-Fi. APPLE PLEASE FIX THIS. I also need my phone for gig work and I am losing money daily because the phone doesn't stay connected to Wi-Fi. Thank goodness I have a windows pc with an ethernet connection.

Apple still try and deny there is an issue.

Lesson Learned. Will never update IOS ever again until at least version 3 as it’s too buggy.

I’m typing this message on my old iPhone 8 on iOS 15 as my new phone is now unusable on IOS

I have 150mb internet.

iPhone 8 Pro on iOS 15.6.1 gets full internet speed over wifi

iPad Pro on IOS 16.3.1 gets full speed from wifi

MacBook Pro gets full 150mb speed on wifi

BUT

At absolute best my Primary Phone on iOS 17.1.2 gets 8mb from a 150mb connection but 90-95% of the time it’s useless and won’t work with anything over Wi-Fi

*routinely drops WhatsApp calls

* can’t download emails over Wi-Fi but will over cellular

*routinely fails to connect to any messaging app such as WhatsApp or Messenger

*wont load simple news posts on BBC news app which are simple text plus one or two photos

ive even turned off background refresh for all apps and closed all apps but anything over Wi-Fi simply doesn’t work.

given I’m out of the UK I’ve had to pay £150 for cellular data abroad so my phone will work.

but all the Apple support Aholes still push the issue onto the customer.

thankfully I return to the UK next week and have a new and unused iPhone 14 Pro which was delivered before iOS 17 so I can essentially use that and throw my current phone in the bin.

After IOS 17.2 Update all three of Apple iPhones constantly loose WiFi connection every 15-20 minutes! Other family members use 3 Droid phones and none of them have this problem! It’s due to the Apple Update 17.2 ! How and when will Apple fix this ? Thank you ! As I’m struggling to take exams due to this issue and I paid Thousands of dollars! If I fail exam it only due to Apple update causing my WiFi to constantly drop all day every day !

I don’t much care about WiFi as I have an unlimited plan on my cell service. But somewhere after 16.5, my phone got sluggish and had a hard time pulling up some pages. Shutting off the WiFi corrects this. But I wasn’t even using the WiFi, so what gives. Then when I shut off the WiFi, I get the message that it is turned off until tomorrow. Yet in a couple hours I will find that it has turned itself back on and it is slowing down my phone again. Getting frustrated

I have same issue even now in ios 17.2.1 (iphone 14 plus) , when i connect wifi it shows that it is connected but cant able to send send message or download anything , it uses sim card internet data even tho it is connected to wifi….

Well, then no wifi when traveling! You would think Apple could support a customer of 30 years when they spend $900 on a new phone and there are connectivity issues due to an upgrade that is supposed to make the device more efficient. The new phone was absolutely worthless on my last business trip. I had to buy an inexpensive Android to be able to communicate with my business associates.

Same problem with my IPhone 11 ProMax after the update. Apps like IG, FB stop videos in middle or don’t refresh, other apps automatically make me log in every time and don’t remember my login data, my Siri voice changed on its own and even tho I changed it back, it changed it again on it’s own next day?? Some safari sites say can’t load or page can’t be displayed, getting “privacy warning” on my secure personal WiFi - even tho the private address setting is on. So many issues- everyone else in my house have a standard iPhone 11 and have no issues…super annoying and hope Apple resolves these issues soon!!!

The new update came on my iPhone since then WiFi not connecting properly I’ve deleted all vpns and still won’t connect to WiFi other phones ok didn’t update it this update needs redoing to sort these issues out Apple have a lot to answer for ridiculous
