Apple watch ultra night mode not working

so I have an $800 watch and highly advanced free diving computer that I cannot control. Big tech nightmare strikes again… Big brother is real and we are not in control… instead we are slaves to the technology.

Is that the message, Apple?

Both the scroll and swipe (redundant) to see widgets is even more useless to me as those widgets (date, time, weather, calendar, health, etc.) are already set as “complications” on my Wayfinder watch face.

Apple could have at least made it a setting where you could CHOOSE what features you want to attribute to the crown rather than forcing users to deal with a very prominent useless feature.

First Apple Watch Customer. Would not rebuy if this is not reverted. Huge miss by product team and absolutely impacts functionality of the watch and desire to use the watch daily. Shows massive disconnect from customers and a desire to streamline the code base over customer use cases

Surely the workaround is to create the ability to scroll down on the digital crown to active/de-active night move. This should still allow for the scroll up option to select the new digital stack as well.

It's 17:46 here a bit dark and my watch is already in dark mode and I can't read ****.

The dark mode on crown was just perfect, I like the widgets in new WatchOS but I have now two ways to access them. Once via crown, once by pulling up for the price of dark-mode. Could you give us at least some configuration option??

The worst part is, there’s no good reason for the crown to function as it does. It’s duplicating the swipe up on face feature. I used the crown for all sorts of things. On the solar dial face you could scroll forward and backward in time to see sunset or sunrise. On the Astronomy face you could crown scroll the phases of the moon forward and backward in time to see the next new or full moon.

Apple, please roll back this “feature”. It serves no purpose, because the swipe up gesture does the same thing as the crown now.

You are right but most of us find it NOT handy at all, unlike the crown function that WAS handy. glad you have found a solution but please please please push for a reversal to the crown function which is now just given us all a useless duplicate function and turned out Ultra watches into normal Apple Watches 🤷🏼‍♂️

+1 - Hello Apple Watch PMs are you reading this? The night mode is a great feature to turn on deliberately when you’re camping. It’s not something you want to turn on when you have the lights slightly dimmed at home. You had it right the first time 😔

I have the wayfinder face and it still doesn’t work.

Same thing is happening. I’ve used the wayfinder face since the Ultra came out and with the update the crown isn’t changing day to night mode anymore.

Downgraded

Same feeling here, to me it feels my watch ultra has downgraded in experience.
