just got the apple watch ultra 2 today and the night mode crown scrolling doesn’t work and it just goes to news and weather menu. Updated software, reset the watch. But no way I can change the night mode manually. Only can change from the phone ‘auto/on/off’ anyone have the same issue?

Hope apple brings back this feature, I don’t want it automatically- it was great using the crown.
The new upgrade took the option away. I would upgrade to Ultra 2 but I can’t justify it with all the negative changes with this last update.
Agreed! Come on Apple! Let’s get this fixed asap. And have a stern discussion with the team that thought this change was a good idea.
The guy in Apple who agreed this change had to be drunk completely! This absolutely against the apple core values - totally nonintuitive and intricate.
Apple please give us the option to toggle night mode using the crown. That was my favorite ultra watch feature!
I would love to see replies that say how much they’re sick of being stuck with what Apple says we have to use, and that they should quit changing things based on their opinions and let us have access to what we’ve been using. I prefer having my watch in night mode all the time, not when they want me to have it. Just saying.
I agree, this is the one thing I used the crown for and it was awesome. Why would apple take that away from us, it was so simple and effective and I loved turning it on during the day depending on my mood, by just turning the crown. Apple, please give us back the option to turn it off/on by using the crown. At least make it an option to turn it off/on by using the crown in the face settings. Taking away options from people is rarely a good idea.
Surely the workaround is to create the ability to scroll down on the digital crown to active/de-active night move. This should still allow for the scroll up option to select the new digital stack as well.
+1 - Hello Apple Watch PMs are you reading this? The night mode is a great feature to turn on deliberately when you’re camping. It’s not something you want to turn on when you have the lights slightly dimmed at home. You had it right the first time 😔

Turning the Digital Crown up to turn on Night Mode only works with the Wayfinder watch face, so make sure you're using that watch face: Apple Watch Ultra faces and their features
The Wayfinder watch face also includes Night Mode—a feature that turns all elements on the watch face red to help preserve your night vision. With the Wayfinder watch face showing, turn the Digital Crown up. To turn off Night Mode, turn the Digital Crown down.

Great idea. I’ll try it. Now, if we could get the scroll up and swipe up to not be the exact same thing. Friggin’ ridiculous, this watchOS is.
Apple please bring back this feature! It is hard to see night mode in some situations and we want to be able to scrolll to toggle it on/off
What a terrible update. Night mode on the crown was great and not even having the ability to configure the behavior is a gut punch on a smart watch of this price. I won’t buy another.
It better to add function to switch manually NIGHT MODE like it was in Watch OS9.
Seems to be many people complaining the same.
