CarPlay iOS17 not working

So since I did the iOS 17 update, CarPlay no longer works. I have reset the settings on my phone, my car, went through every step I found online and I have installed the most recent bug fix. So I am at a loss and I am assuming when my iPhone 15 Pro Max gets here today that I will still have the problem

Greetings Erklee102381,

To ensure that you're covering all the bases, the following steps may be able to provide you with some additional assistance:

"Check your wired or wireless connection and your iPhone settings

If your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS, follow these steps—checking CarPlay after each step:

  1. Check your connection to your CarPlay stereo:
    • If you have a wired connection, try connecting again with a different USB cable to a different USB port if you have one.
    • If you have a wireless connection, make sure that Bluetooth is turned on on your iPhone under Settings > Bluetooth. Then go to Settings > Wi-Fi, and make sure that Wi-Fi is also turned on. Tap the CarPlay network, and check that Auto-Join is turned on.

2. If CarPlay doesn't activate automatically, look for the CarPlay logo on your car's display and select it.

3. Restart your iPhone and your car.

4. Make sure that Siri is on.

5. If your iPhone isn't detected by CarPlay, make sure that CarPlay isn't restricted. Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions. If Content & Privacy Restrictions is on, tap Allowed Apps, and make sure that CarPlay is enabled.

6. Go to Settings > General > CarPlay, tap your car, then tap Forget This Car. Then set up CarPlay again.

7. Make sure that your CarPlay stereo is using the latest firmware from the car manufacturer. Check your car's manual for more information.

If you still have issues connecting to CarPlay, contact Apple Support.

Connect your iPhone with a USB-C connector to CarPlay with the USB-C to Lightning Adapter

You can use the USB-C to Lightning Adapter with wired CarPlay in most vehicles. However, some combinations of adapters, cables, and vehicle entertainment systems might disrupt the wired CarPlay connection. In this situation or for cars that support only wired CarPlay, use a direct connection with a USB cable.

I am using CarPlay for many years now and haven't had any issues until now(iOS17). Recent years I had several cars and haven't updated their head unit system, CarPlay work just fine on every iOS. I had also rented many cars while traveling abroad with no issues.

For sure, it’s an iOS issue now, it seems only Apple can resolve this bug. don't go blame your car manufacturers or your iPhone configuration, it’s a waste of energy.

Hopefully Apple is working on this fix, they haven’t release any official comment as far as I am aware of.

I have a BMW 340i and am having the same issues. I did reboot the infotainment system in my car and reset all connections but no luck. My wife’s iPhone with an older iOS version can use CarPlay. My phone connects to the car’s Bluetooth, but can’t launch CarPlay 😡😡. How long does Apple typically take to go through all their major and minor screwups when they launch a neo version of their most important software?

I wish I would have looked this up PRIOR to updating the software! Now my iPhone 14 Pro won’t connect with my 2020 Subaru Ascent. I didn’t realize it until I was driving down a mountain road and trying to answer my work messages via CarPlay. Now whenever I get in my car, my Meditation Music starts playing, not a good thing to listen to while driving curvy mountain roads, and I can’t stop it as it doesn’t show up as playing on my phone. I have reset everything and disconnected and reconnected and tried different cords. I disconnected the Bluetooth from the car, but now I’m having to look at my phone for the Maps while driving. I guess I got spoiled having it on my dash! I hope Apple comes up with a solution soon!!

Have you had any luck this ? I'm in an identical situation to you- same phone & 2023 Lexus. Neither Apple nor Lexus are helpful. I have an NX & think 17 is not compatible with its software. Staff meat local Lexus had this issue with 17 but it was sorted with some of the updates. They drive UX and IS. When they connected their phones with my NX it went back to not working. Going crazy with this!
