Updated my iPhone 11 to.ios 17.01 last night. Since then, my face id won't work. I get error messages or it says face id not available. I thought I could reset face ID but it's not letting me do that either
. Rebooting the phone didn't help. Everything was working fine until the ios 17 update finished installing.

In another thread someone said they opened the Settings App. Tapped General and scanned down to Shut Down. Tap that, your iPhone will shut down. Wait a minute or so, then turn the phone back on and see if you can set up Face ID again. Let us know if this works as it will help others.

I just updated my iOS to 17.1.2 and yes, I lost the ability to use BOTH Face ID and Passcode key. Apple, please fix this soon!!!
Out of all the other things I tried, this one worked!!! Thank you for suggesting this. My Face ID is now working again.

This happened to me too. It caused my phone to get stuck in a reboot loop which resulted in me having to buy a new phone! It really ****** me off!
It’s not a rare issue. Nothing works to resolve this.
Camera lens wipe did it for me. I had wiped the lens several times before but the process of wiping it and then immediately trying for some reason seemed to work
